Santa Monica: Demi Moore enthralled audiences at the 30th Critics Choice Awards, showcasing a striking Schiaparelli gown that blends vintage charm with modern flair. Her fashion choices highlight the ongoing influence of retro aesthetics in celebrity wardrobes, emphasising the collaboration with stylist Brad Goreski and designer Daniel Roseberry.

Demi Moore is currently captivating audiences as she promotes her latest film project, “The Substance.” The actress has been active in her promotional efforts for almost a year, attending notable events such as the Cannes Film Festival and various screenings. Recently, she has entered the awards circuit, showcasing an impressive array of fashion choices developed in collaboration with stylist Brad Goreski.

At the 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards, which took place on February 7, 2025, at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, Moore graced the red carpet in a striking haute couture design from Schiaparelli’s Fall 2024 collection. The strapless gown features an intricately embellished bodice, a sharply molded waist, and exaggerated hips, while the dress’s skirt appears to be sliced into ribbons, evoking a sense of vintage-inspired drama that aligns with current retro aesthetics in pop culture.

Complementing her dress, Moore opted for a pair of navy satin pumps from the same haute couture collection. These shoes boast a sharp pointed-toe and a low-cut vamp that mirrors the punti. Notably, a crystal-embellished sphere adorns the top of the vamp, while a matching ball sits at the base of the stiletto heel, estimated to be around four inches high. The design echoes vintage influences, reminiscent of classic footwear styles, yet crafted with contemporary flair. It is worth noting that the shoes, like many haute couture pieces, are not available for public purchase. Taylor Russel previously sported the same shoe design in black during the Venice Film Festival, pairing it with a sheer silk organza halter dress, further highlighting the retro-inspired appeal.

Moore has developed a rapport with Schiaparelli’s creative director Daniel Roseberry, returning to the designer repeatedly over the past year for stunning looks. Earlier this week, as she prepared for an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, she selected a black halter dress from the brand, teamed with black leather mules featuring a gold keyhole detail at the toes.

The Critics Choice Awards, an annual event celebrating outstanding projects in film and television, is presented by the American-Canadian Critics Choice Association and hosted this year by Chelsea Handler. The event marks its 30th anniversary, with leading nominations including “Conclave,” “Wicked,” and “Dune: Part Two” in the film categories, while the television category sees “Shogun” in the lead. Among the presenters for the evening are notable figures such as Aldis Hodge, Kate Hudson, Kathryn Hahn, Lupita Nyong’o, and Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Moore’s fashion choices, reflective of iconic fashion eras, contribute to the ongoing dialogue surrounding vintage style’s influence in modern celebrity wardrobes. The collaboration with Goreski and the utilisation of haute couture pieces from renowned designers like Schiaparelli showcase how historical fashion elements are continuously repurposed, capturing the essence of the past while maintaining a contemporary relevance. The fashion historians and enthusiasts closely following these trends play a significant role in identifying and shaping the styles adopted by today’s celebrities, further intertwining the realms of vintage inspiration and modern celebrity culture.
