Madrid: Moisés Nieto showcased his Autumn-Winter 2025/26 collection at Madrid Fashion Week, exploring art and life through innovative designs inspired by Tarkovsky, featuring sustainable materials, an interactive digital preview, and a focus on functionality and timelessness in fashion.

Moisés Nieto’s latest collection was showcased during Madrid Fashion Week, inviting fashion enthusiasts to delve into a contemplative exploration of art and life, inspired by the melancholy aesthetic of filmmaker Andréi Tarkovsky. This Autumn-Winter 2025/26 collection is described as both innovative in its content and thoughtful in its presentation, highlighting Nieto’s intention to slow down the frantic pace of everyday life.

The collection features 18 distinct looks, encouraging an in-depth appreciation of the details that characterise each piece. Through a specially designed website, Nieto provided an early viewing experience for those who registered, allowing access to a range of exclusive content. Participants were able to explore the collection a day prior to its official launch, offering insights into the silhouettes, fabrics, mood boards, and artistic influences that shaped the designer’s vision. Nieto explained, “the process is almost more important than the finished garment,” suggesting that the creative journey itself holds significant value.

This interactive approach reinforces Nieto’s connection with his audience, enabling them to experience his creative universe from various perspectives. Among the notable features of this exhibition was the digital availability of a pattern for one of Nieto’s iconic designs, allowing devoted fans to attempt crafting a garment from home.

The collection prominently highlights staple items such as trench coats and men’s coats while maintaining a commitment to sustainability. By incorporating reused materials and employing upcycling techniques, Nieto promotes reflective practices in fashion. Essential garments are crafted from mohair wool, complemented with synthetic fur lapels, and key blazers are informed by previous collections yet tailored to contemporary styles. The chosen colour palette, which encompasses shades of beige, brown, and green, pays homage to the cinematic inspirations that permeate his work.

Nieto’s Autumn-Winter collection not only exemplifies current fashion trends but also aspires to cultivate a versatile and enduring wardrobe, emphasising functionality alongside aesthetic appeal. This innovative combination of digital engagement and sustainable practices marks a significant moment in Nieto’s career and the broader fashion landscape as it navigates modern influences and traditions.
