Club L London has confirmed its acquisition of occasionwear brand Lavish Alice in a bid to strengthen its market position and accelerate global expansion.

Club L London has officially announced its acquisition of occasionwear competitor Lavish Alice in a seven-figure deal, the details of which have not been disclosed. This acquisition aims to enhance Club L London’s market position and expedite its global expansion strategy.

The integration encompasses all facets of Lavish Alice’s operations, including intellectual property rights, the website, inventory, social media accounts, and customer data. This significant move marks Club L London’s first foray into acquisitions.

Club L London has experienced remarkable growth, reporting a turnover of £44 million in 2024, which represents a 51% increase in revenue year-on-year. The addition of Lavish Alice is seen as a strategic maneuver to sustain this upward trajectory.

Founded in Manchester in 2013 by Matthew Newton and Lee Bloor, Lavish Alice had made a name for itself, previously featured in high-end retail outlets such as Selfridges and Harvey Nichols. However, the brand struggled recently, leading to the voluntary administration of its wholesale arm in February 2023.

Katie Randev, Founder and CEO of Club L London, remarked, “This acquisition is a strategic step in our journey to scale globally and further elevate our brand portfolio. Lavish Alice and Club L London share a dedication to meticulous design and attention to detail, with both brands focused on creating considered, timeless pieces.” Randev noted that incorporating Lavish Alice into Club L London not only enhances their market presence but also reinforces their standing in the premium fashion sector. She expressed excitement about the future opportunities, emphasizing the commitment to enhance Lavish Alice’s legacy.

Despite the acquisition, Lavish Alice will continue to operate as a standalone brand under the Club L London Group. The Founders, Lee Bloor and Matthew Newton, will manage the transition and ensure a smooth integration before eventually stepping back from the brand’s daily operations.

In their joint statement, Bloor and Newton expressed their delight in having Lavish Alice acquired by Club L London. They reflected on their 18 years of dedication to creating a brand recognized for luxury, craftsmanship, and timeless design, stating, “From being stocked in world-renowned retailers to dressing A-list celebrities, Lavish Alice has been a true labour of love.” They conveyed pride in passing their legacy to Club L London, recognizing it as a leader in the occasionwear market, and expressed enthusiasm for the brand’s future evolution.

This acquisition positions Club L London to carve out a stronger niche within the competitive fashion landscape as both brands leverage their respective strengths.
