Fashion enthusiasts can explore a treasure trove of vintage and custom pieces at the Vogue Vintage Market, featuring contributions from stars like Kendall Jenner and Cindy Crawford.

Fashion enthusiasts and collectors will have the opportunity to dive into a treasure trove of vintage and custom pieces at the highly anticipated Vogue Vintage Market, scheduled for March 29 at Roll & Hill in New York City. In a collaborative effort, editors at Vogue reached out to various designers, models, and notable figures in the fashion industry to participate in what they are calling a “wardrobe diet.” The response from these fashion insiders has been overwhelmingly positive, promising an event filled with one-of-a-kind items.

Among the star-studded contributors is Kendall Jenner, who has donated iconic pieces including a Dior micro mini skirt and a belt bag from the brand’s 2004 “Rasta” capsule collection. These pieces not only encapsulate the fashion aesthetics of the early 2000s but also bring with them a sense of nostalgia, as the skirt was once worn by supermodel Gisele Bündchen in a well-known photoshoot.

Karen Elson, another prominent figure in the fashion world, has contributed a sheer lavender blouse from Givenchy’s 2011 Pre-Fall Collection, originally gifted to her by Riccardo Tisci after a fashion show. Elson remarked, “I wore it to parties, but it’s now time to find a new owner for the blouse, given it’s been in my closet for too long.” Other notable donations include an Alice & Olivia dress that Taylor Swift famously wore during her performance at the 2011 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony, encapsulating the essence of the “country princess” vibe associated with Swift in that era.

Cindy Crawford’s contribution of a tank top from Dior’s Spring/Summer 2005 collection features the bold slogan “Dior Not War,” representing a significant thematic shift for the brand during that time. Lauren Santo Domingo, a former Vogue editor and founder of the retail company Moda Operandi, has also added her style to the market with a dress from Prada’s 2010 Resort collection, reflecting her personal connection to high fashion.

The Vogue Vintage Market will showcase an array of items including a Loewe silk dress from their 2023 Fall/Winter collection, reflecting designer Jonathan Anderson’s signature “artistic yet realistic” aesthetic, and a striking daisy printed skirt from Versace’s Spring/Summer 2002 collection, inspired by pop art and reminiscent of Andy Warhol’s style.

Emily Rockefeller has donated a 1996 John Galliano dress, nearly identical to the one Anna Wintour wore to the 1996 Met Gala, while writer Amy Griffin has contributed a Balenciaga Le Dix silk coat, encapsulating the design traits of the late 70s to early 90s. The market will also feature rare finds like a wool cape by Pierre Cardin, a custom Valentino dress worn by Bee Shaffer at the 2021 Met Gala, and cowboy boots from Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring/Summer 2000 collection, famously worn by Naomi Campbell.

Among the offerings is a Petite Mallet bag from Louis Vuitton, which embodies the luxury brand’s legacy, along with vintage gowns and dresses reflecting the playful elegance of earlier decades, such as a maxi dress from Dior from the late 60s to 70s and an organza dress from Erdem’s 2018 Spring/Summer collection that pays tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.

In addition to these items, the market will feature contributions from other notable designers including Proenza Schouler, Marc Jacobs, and Willy Chavarria, showcasing a rich blend of contemporary and classic fashion statements. The Vogue Vintage Market is expected to attract fashion aficionados eager to explore a diverse range of styles and historical pieces curated by the very figures who have shaped the fashion landscape.
