Renowned television actress Jennifer Winget discusses her journey in fashion and the importance of engaging conversations on dates during a recent event.
Renowned television actress Jennifer Winget recently shared her thoughts on dating and fashion during an event at the Magnum lounge at Lakme Fashion Week. Winget emphasized the importance of engaging dialogue, stating, “By having a very interesting conversation,” which she believes is the key to impressing someone on a date.
Reflecting on her fashion journey, Winget candidly acknowledged the numerous mistakes she made early in her career regarding her makeup and clothing choices. “I had no idea what I was doing with my makeup and clothes. I was just kind of… but that’s how you learn, right? I don’t remember any one particular outfit, but man, I’ve made mistakes,” she confessed to IANS.
Over the years, Winget has experienced a significant evolution in her personal style. She described her fashion sense as having evolved from a lack of direction to a more refined aesthetic. “I think now I’m more into sustainable chic, and I try to keep it as minimalistic as possible,” she explained. Vintage fashion is a particular favorite of hers, illustrating her appreciation for timeless styles.
Interestingly, Winget noted that her on-screen persona does not influence her real-life fashion choices. “When I’m playing a character, it’s the character’s outfit, not Jennifer’s outfit. If I’m playing a lawyer, I have to dress accordingly, but I don’t dress like that in real life,” she said. While she admitted that there are occasional overlaps between her roles and personal style, she emphasized the distinct separation she maintains between the two.
Winget’s impressive career began as a child actor in the 1995 film “Akele Hum Akele Tum,” and she made her television debut in 2002 with “Shaka Laka Boom Boom.” She garnered widespread recognition for her performances in popular shows such as “Kasautii Zindagii Kay,” “Sangam,” and “Dill Mill Gayye.” Her notable roles include Kumud Sundari Desai in “Saraswatichandra,” Maya Mehrotra in the psychological thriller “Beyhadh,” and Zoya Siddiqui in the romantic drama “Bepannah.” Today, she is recognized as one of the highest-paid actresses in Indian television.
