Interpublic Group enhances its commerce solutions strategy by appointing Yaniv Sarig as Global Head of AI Commerce, aiming to leverage AI in retail experiences.

Interpublic Group has appointed Yaniv Sarig as Global Head of AI Commerce as part of the company’s strategy to enhance commerce solutions for brands worldwide. Sarig, who has been working with Interpublic in a consulting role, will now report to Jeriad Zoghby, the company’s Global Chief Commerce Strategy Officer.

Sarig steps into the role as consumer interest in AI-driven shopping experiences continues to rise. Recent research from Capgemini indicates that 71% of consumers are interested in integrating generative AI into their retail experiences. In his role, Sarig will work with agency and technology leaders within Interpublic to create commerce solutions that can help clients thrive in an increasingly complex omnichannel environment. His responsibilities will also include leveraging market data from Intelligence Node, acquired by Interpublic in 2024, to develop advanced agentic commerce platforms.

Before joining Interpublic, Sarig co-founded and served as CEO of Aterian, a tech-focused consumer goods company. Under his leadership, Aterian grew into a key player within the third-party seller ecosystem by utilizing automation and machine learning to enhance product development and marketing strategies.

Zoghby expressed enthusiasm about Sarig’s appointment, highlighting his unique background in machine learning and experience in leading a publicly traded company as valuable to Interpublic’s mission. “This strategic hire underscores Interpublic’s commitment to leveraging AI advancements towards commerce innovation,” Zoghby stated.

Sarig himself commented on the evolving landscape of commerce, stating, “Having built and operated digitally native brands that leveraged data, automation, and machine learning to compete effectively, I’ve seen firsthand how technology can become a key differentiator in winning the digital shelf.” He aims to enable enterprise brands to utilize the latest AI technologies to manage their commerce capabilities effectively.

Interpublic, which reported total revenue of $10.7 billion in 2024, continues to strengthen its portfolio in the marketing and commerce sectors, aligning with trends towards digital and technological integration.
