Matten Kim, a brand under Hago House, introduces innovative 3D holographic displays, marking a major shift in the physical retail experience for fashion.
South Korea’s fashion landscape is witnessing a technological evolution as Matten Kim, a brand under the leading incubator Hago House, has unveiled 3D holographic displays in several flagship and department stores. This innovative step, announced on October 14, makes Matten Kim the first brand in the fashion industry to replace traditional mannequins with real-time 3D holograms in physical retail spaces.
Customers eager to experience this new presentation of fashion can visit a total of five locations: the Matten Kim flagship store in Seongsu, the Myeong-dong branch, Hyundai Department Store Pangyo branch, The Hyundai Daegu branch, and Jamsil Lotte World Mall Hago House. This initiative aims to bring fashion to life through eye-catching holographic displays that showcase attire in a 360-degree format.
The hologram technology employed allows for vivid three-dimensional images made possible by advanced 3D modeling techniques. Combining Generative AI with state-of-the-art IT innovations, including motion tracking and holography, the displays create the illusion that garments are physically wearing themselves in front of shoppers.
The development of this platform involved collaboration with Creative Cool, a media tech company that holds exclusive rights to Proto hologram technology in the United States. This same technology was previously showcased during the G-Dragon Media Exhibition at The Hyundai Seoul last month, highlighting its credibility and potential in the entertainment and fashion sectors.
A representative from Matten Kim expressed enthusiasm about this pioneering move, stating, “We have introduced 3D holographic displays for the first time in the industry to provide a special experience to customers. As a representative K-fashion player, we will continue to lead innovation to deliver interesting and fresh shopping joy to customers.”
Looking ahead, Matten Kim plans to further utilize this groundbreaking holographic technology, producing more optimized content that enhances the shopping experience in remarkable and engaging ways.
