Porsche unveils the 911 Spirit 70, a limited-edition convertible blending classic 1970s style with modern hybrid technology. Limited to 1,500 units, this heritage model features vintage design cues, advanced performance, and a unique customization app with Apple Vision Pro support.

Porsche has announced the release of its third limited-edition heritage model, the 911 Spirit 70, a convertible that celebrates the design and spirit of the 1970s and early 1980s. The car was unveiled at the Shanghai motor show as part of Porsche’s Heritage Design strategy and is limited to 1,500 units worldwide.

Built on the 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet platform, the Spirit 70 incorporates a high-performance hybrid system combining a 3.6-litre boxer engine with an eTurbo and an electric motor. This setup delivers a total system output of 403 kW and 610 Nm of torque. The vehicle is priced at NZ$525,000, with first customer deliveries expected in the fourth quarter of this year.

The exterior design features a distinctive Olive Neo paint color, a deep green reminiscent of vintage Porsche tones, complemented by Bronzite detailing. Black silk gloss stripes and historic-style badges further enhance its retro look, including the original Porsche crest from 1963. Motorsport heritage is highlighted by “Lollipop” racing number decals and gold-plated Porsche lettering.

Inside the cabin, the design centers around Pasha fabric, reimagined in black and Olive Neo with a checkered flag-inspired motif. This textile, which incorporates flock yarn for added comfort, is used extensively on the seats, door panels, glove box, and boot mat. The interior is completed with club leather in basalt black featuring Olive Neo stitching, creating a vintage-modern ambiance.

The digital instrument cluster spans 12.65 inches, displaying retro-style green digits and white hands, drawing inspiration from the Porsche 356. Complementing this, the Sport Chrono stopwatch presents a classic design consistent with the heritage theme.

The 911 Spirit 70 follows two previous Heritage Design models: the 911 Targa 4S, which evokes 1950s–60s styling, and the 911 Sport Classic, inspired by the 1960s–70s era.

To further immerse enthusiasts in the heritage experience, Porsche is offering a unique app compatible with the Apple Vision Pro virtual reality headset. This app allows users to customize their Spirit 70 with over 1,000 options through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, providing a highly personalized experience.

Additionally, Porsche is releasing a Lifestyle Collection tied to the Spirit 70, featuring 1970s-inspired apparel, accessories, and collectible models, allowing owners and fans to engage with the era’s style beyond the vehicle itself.
