After years apart, Benjamin and Andrea reconnect to celebrate their love with a wedding steeped in personal significance and elegant nostalgia.

In a touching narrative of love that spanned over a decade, Benjamin A. Coppel S. and Andrea Fernández found their way back to each other after their initial meeting at a college event. Their reconnection began when Benjamin reached out via text message, proposing a date that culminated in the charming phrase, “And then just maybe, we live happily ever after, sounds good?” To which Andrea replied affirmatively, marking the beginning of a journey that would be defined by art, spontaneity, and adventure.

Following their first date in Los Angeles, Benjamin made a special trip to see Andrea at the Tamayo Museum in Seoul, where she was employed at the time. This pivotal moment solidified their relationship and led to a series of shared experiences across various locales. As they began to plan their wedding, they aimed to create a celebration that was not only beautiful but deeply personal.

Speaking about their vision, Andrea expressed a desire for a venue rich with history and significance, stating, “We envisioned a location that we could drive by years from now and tell our grandchildren, ‘We got married there.’” The couple ultimately chose Andrea’s father’s childhood home in Chihuahua, Mexico, noting that its warmth, familial traditions, and stories made it the ideal backdrop for their intimate celebration.

The couple’s wedding, held in the fall, was designed to reflect both nostalgia and modern elegance. Andrea remarked, “We wanted the reception to feel like an elegant yet effortless gathering—as my grandmother would have organized it in the ’50s—that celebrated the home’s beauty while adding a refined, contemporary touch.” Their wedding planners, Jerónimo Gaxiola and his team, successfully executed this vision, intertwining the old with the new.

Andrea’s wedding dress was another focal point of the occasion, inspired by iconic actress Audrey Hepburn. In a moment of serendipity, Andrea found a photo of Hepburn in a Givenchy gown and considered it a turning point in her search for the perfect dress. After struggling to find a suitable designer, she reached out to bridal stylist Gabrielle Hurwitz, who resonated with her vision. Andrea recounted, “I sent her an email explaining my struggle…she completely understood my vision.”

With Gabrielle’s guidance, Andrea discovered the work of designer Emilia Wickstead and felt an immediate connection. As the dress took form over several fittings in London, the bride celebrated her journey with friends, relishing the connection to her dream gown—a sleeveless ivory silk creation with an elegant Watteau train. She completed her look with chic Jimmy Choo Mary Janes and Cartier earrings, a special gift from Benjamin. The groom complemented her look perfectly in a classic Tom Ford tuxedo, marking their union in style.

As the couple spoke with Vogue, they painted a picture of a wedding that was not only a celebration of their love but also an intimate homage to family, heritage, and the journey that brought them together.
