London: Andrea Lieberman’s fall 2025 collection for A.L.C. brings a modern nostalgia to the runway, featuring a system of dressing with classic pieces and vibrant colours, embodying a fresh take on 1970s fashion while appealing to contemporary consumers through quality and refined styles.

The fashion world is witnessing a throwback to the 1970s through Andrea Lieberman’s latest collection for A.L.C., presented for the fall 2025 season. The collection, showcased at a recent event, subtly incorporates elements of the past without overwhelming the modern sensibility of today’s audience. Lieberman meticulously designed the collection to reflect a “touch of modern nostalgia,” steering clear of stark retro clichés.

In an interview with Vogue, Lieberman expressed her approach to the collection, stating, “I hate to say the word retro, so I’m not going to.” Instead, she has infused the collection with shades of plum, pickle, and brown, invoking the aesthetic of the 1970s while maintaining a contemporary edge.

Building on the foundation laid with the introduction of denim in the spring of 2025, Lieberman is expanding A.L.C.’s offerings with a “system of dressing” slated for year-round availability. This capsule wardrobe will include staple items such as denim, blazers, leather jackets, trench coats, cashmere sweaters, drape-neck tops, and tees. Lieberman noted, “It’s all based on classic, iconic pieces. I’ve been working to refine the fabrics and the fits,” highlighting her commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, having incorporated feedback from shoppers.

The collection is particularly noted for its elevated take on wardrobe essentials. While some pieces, like a faux-fur purse and a gray, lace-trimmed skirt set, received mixed reactions, the outerwear stood out prominently. A lightweight bottle green nappa leather jacket and an olive oilcloth jacket adorned with a leather collar exemplified the sophistication seen throughout the collection. Lieberman elaborated on the A.L.C. philosophy, remarking, “It’s a really great way to be polished where you don’t always want to wear a blazer. It’s a modern lens on tailoring. It’s a little less serious.”

As A.L.C. continues to evolve under her guidance, the fall 2025 collection reflects a blend of tradition and innovation, appealing to the modern consumer looking for timeless yet fresh fashion choices.
