Adidas Originals announces the debut of ‘Originals Golf,’ a new collection that merges the brand’s rich history with contemporary fashion for golfers, set to launch on April 3.
Adidas Originals is set to make an impactful return to the golfing world with the launch of “Originals Golf,” a collection that combines the brand’s rich heritage with contemporary style for the golf course. The collection is scheduled to debut on April 3, featuring a diverse lineup of apparel, footwear, and accessories designed for both men and women. The announcement highlights the growing influence of streetwear within the golfing community, catering to a demographic that values both style and functionality.
Adidas has chosen to showcase the Originals Golf line through professional golfer Ludvig Aberg during the first major tournament of the year, further underscoring its commitment to the sport. Dylan Moore, Senior Creative Director of adidas Golf, emphasized the historical significance of the brand, stating, “The adidas Trefoil logo was first introduced in 1972 and represents the convergence of fashion and culture through sport.” He continued by noting that the inspiration for this collection was rooted in the brand’s legacy in the game, especially during the ’70s and ’80s, when fashion was pushed on the course.
The collection features a variety of intricate styles that utilize premium materials, presenting an elevated color palette of blues, whites, greens, and yellows aimed specifically at the season’s first major tournament. The men’s lineup includes standout pieces such as a knit polo made from a cotton-polyester blend, a classic solid polo with contrast tipping, and pleated pants featuring the iconic 3-Stripes detail. The outerwear options provide a practical touch, featuring various layers including an Argyle Quarter-Zip and a blended cotton-cashmere sweater.
For the women’s collection, key items include a cool-touch double-knit polo with raglan sleeves and a stylish pleated skort designed with side pockets and a concealed zipper. Shaun Madigan, Global Apparel Director of adidas Golf, reiterated the collection’s focus on timeless style, stating, “With Originals Golf, we stayed true to our heritage while designing for the modern golfer who wants to make a statement.”
In addition to apparel, the footwear selection highlights iconic Adidas models that have been reimagined for golfing. The COURSECUP shoe, inspired by the 1986 GOLD CUP golf shoe, features genuine leather and a spikeless outsole. The Gazelle Golf marks the debut of the classic silhouette in a golf context, introducing enhanced cushioning and a waterproof upper. Returning favorites like the Stan Smith Golf, Samba Golf, and a special edition of the Superstar Golf, are also included, showcasing premium leather construction and modern golfing functionality. According to Masun Denison, Global Footwear Director of adidas Golf, “With COURSECUP and Gazelle Golf, golfers can now enjoy iconic adidas designs while staying comfortable on the course.”
Completing the aesthetic, Originals Golf also features a range of premium accessories, which include stylish hats, socks, belts, an Originals Golf Leather Glove, custom headcovers, golf towels, and the premium Originals Golf Boston Bag.
The adidas Originals Golf collection will be available exclusively through adidas.com, the adidas app, and select retail partners starting April 3. This latest push by adidas marks a significant step in enhancing the intersection of heritage, culture, and performance in golf fashion.
