Designer Alessandro Enriquez’s latest exhibition, ‘Alessandro Enriquez loves Kornit: The Places of the Heart,’ invites visitors to explore his bold vision across iconic Milan locations from April 7 to April 14, 2024.
Designer Alessandro Enriquez is taking center stage in Milan as part of the latest collaboration between D-house laboratorio urbano, the Innovation Hub of Gruppo Pattern, and Kornit Digital. The event titled “Alessandro Enriquez loves Kornit: The Places of the Heart” invites participants to explore the designer’s vibrant vision of color and creativity that transcends traditional boundaries in fashion and interior design.
This exhibition, now in its third consecutive year, promises to engage visitors through a unique narrative that showcases Enriquez’s distinctive graphic style. Spanning a week, from April 7 to April 14, 2024, it will be highlighted by stylistic transformations at ten iconic locations across Milan. Visitors will experience these locations infused with Enriquez’s graphic signature, which is renowned for its bold prints and rich color palettes that embody his love for Milan and Italy.
Exemplifying Enriquez’s stylistic lexicon are several standout motifs, including “Love Motion,” featuring a lively composition of hearts and strawberries; “Retro Ride,” inspired by vintage bicycles and geometric patterns; “Star Grid,” which presents a sporty aesthetic; and “Double Hearts,” capturing a playful explosion of romance. This collection focuses on strong statement pieces made from denim, alongside poplin shirts designed for versatility. It also includes cycling-inspired looks that seamlessly blend sportswear with urban elegance.
The project kicks off at the D-house location on Via Lodovico il Moro, 25, and extends to various noteworthy spots including the historic Pasticceria Cucchi, the Neapolitan trattoria CreDa, and several bistros in Porta Venezia. Notably, the Radisson Collection Hotel within the Touring Club Italiano building and the Jannelli & Volpi Store will also feature Enriquez’s designs. Every element in these locations—ranging from runners to cushions—will be customized with his signature graphics, creating a visual narrative that celebrates the essence of his work.
“Colors are a part of me—I couldn’t live without them,” said Enriquez, emphasizing his connection to color as a vital aspect of living rather than just fashion. He added, “I love storytelling, and this time I wanted to tell the story of my city, Milan, exactly as I see it through my lens: a city full of color and love!” The entire project serves as an interactive invitation for locals and visitors to experience urban spaces with energy and a sense of community.
Additionally, the initiative includes a bike tour featuring Silvestrini bicycles, allowing participants to further engage with the urban landscape. To enhance the experience, copies of the Gazette, a publication showcasing Enriquez’s work, will be distributed throughout the city, further connecting visitors with his creative expression.
Kornit Digital’s advanced technologies play a pivotal role in bringing Enriquez’s visions to life. Utilizing Kornit Presto MAX and Atlas MAX technologies, the project showcases digital printing capabilities that surpass traditional limits, enabling intricate and visually captivating designs on various textiles.
“Returning to Milan Design Week for the third year in a row with D-house is more than a tradition—it’s a testament to collaboration, creativity, and technology,” stated Marco Bonanno, General Manager Italy for Kornit Digital. He underscored that the partnership not only highlights innovation but also integrates it into the very fabric of Milan, reflecting a commitment to a vibrant and sustainable future in fashion and design.
The project is coordinated by D-house laboratorio urbano, with support from Dyloan Bond Factory, and employs fabrics produced by various manufacturers, such as Beppetex and Camac. Commenting on the convergence of design and technology, Loreto di Rienzo, Technology Ambassador at Dyloan Bond Factory, expressed how the collaboration seeks to enhance production processes while exploring new aesthetics.
A press breakfast for journalists is scheduled for April 7, 2024, at the D-house premises, providing an opportunity for media representatives to delve deeper into the project’s objectives and innovative solutions. Interested parties can direct inquiries to Ingrid at Ingrid@pr4u.be.
