Designer Alexis Mabille marks two decades in the fashion world with a personal celebration, presenting his Spring Summer 2025 collection through a unique lookbook format.
In a heartfelt celebration of his 20-year journey in the fashion industry, designer Alexis Mabille presented his Spring Summer 2025 Haute Couture collection through an intimate lookbook rather than a conventional runway show, as reported by OTS Magazine. This unique approach aimed to connect deeply with his artistic roots and the individuals who have supported him throughout his career.
Hosted at the renowned Caviar Kaspia, the gathering turned into a warm dinner featuring Mabille’s “chosen family” of muses, among them renowned figures such as fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth, dancer Marie-Agnès Gillot, burlesque performer Dita von Teese, Broadway producer Jordan Roth, and influencer Tina Leung. Reflecting on his decision to forgo a grand production, Mabille stated, “I didn’t want a big, expensive show. Just a moment with those who’ve been there from the start,” emphasizing the importance of intimacy and personal connection in his celebration.
The collection itself, comprised of 35 looks, served as a curated retrospective, showcasing a blend of archival pieces with modern reinterpretations that honored the distinct personalities of each model. Notable pieces in the collection included a glacier blue quilted duchesse satin Disc coat, a floral-embroidered bustier dress paired with a tulle petticoat, and an ethereal summer “fur” fashioned from gradient pleated and frayed organza.
Mabille also incorporated elements that paid homage to his design beginnings, such as a boutis-stitched black silk bolero that complemented a leopard brocade bustier sheath embellished with intricate stone embroidery and tufts of white fur. The collection featured playful reimaginings of classic silhouettes, including feathered minidresses styled from traditional smoking jackets, and voluminous petticoats that combined elegance with a cheeky transparency.
Among the standout designs was a striking midnight blue sheath dress worn by model Emma Wiklund, which epitomized the timeless sophistication that has become synonymous with Mabille’s aesthetic. The collection, like the surrounding festivities, served as a deeply personal narrative reflecting Mabille’s evolution as a designer, reaffirming his position as a master storyteller in the realm of haute couture, even after two decades in the industry.
