AliExpress has seen domestic fashion sales soar 38-fold year-on-year in February 2025, with a surge of new sellers joining the marketplace.

AliExpress has reported a significant boom in its domestic fashion sector, with sales surging approximately 38 times in February 2025 compared to the same month in the previous year. This remarkable growth has also been accompanied by a dramatic increase in the number of new sellers entering the marketplace, which rose by 180% month-on-month.

According to AliExpress K-Venue, which tracks performance in its fashion categories, domestic brands are experiencing unprecedented success. Among these, Styleworks, a domestic designer brand, posted a staggering increase in sales, growing by 71 times year-on-year in the fourth quarter of the last year. Another retailer, Attrangs, which specializes in women’s clothing, reported about a six-fold increase in sales in December 2024 compared to the previous month.

Currently, K-Venue supports over 400 domestic fashion brands that include a mix of women’s and men’s clothing retailers as well as designer labels. To further encourage new sellers, AliExpress has implemented a promotional strategy that features a 0% commission policy for three months, effective from February for newly registered domestic corporations and individual businesses. Additionally, for sellers with an annual sales volume of less than 500 million won, the platform offers a 50% commission refund for one year.

Ray Zhang, CEO of AliExpress Korea, emphasized the company’s commitment to fostering an environment conducive to growth for its sellers. “We will continue to implement various policies and create an environment that allows our sellers to expand their channels to the global market and drive business growth,” Zhang stated.

This surge in the domestic fashion market illustrates a burgeoning interest in K-fashion among consumers, aligning with broader trends in e-commerce and digital retail.
