ALLIED Feather + Down reveals plans for a biodegradable down puffer jacket set to debut in September 2025 as part of ongoing efforts to enhance sustainability in the fashion industry.

In a significant development within the sustainable fashion sector, ALLIED Feather + Down is preparing to launch a biodegradable down puffer jacket slated for September 2025. Matthew Betcher, Creative Director at ALLIED Feather + Down, emphasized the innovative combination of biodegradable elements in the product, stating, “It’s the perfect insulation to combine with biodegradable fabrics and trims.” This jacket will be part of Templa’s Autumn/Winter 2025 – Edition 12 Collection.

Prior to the official release, Templa and ALLIED Feather + Down have engaged in extensive testing of their outerwear to ensure its performance and ecological viability. The design teams revealed that the jacket will feature components that are 99 percent biodegradable, a claim validated by testing conducted by Amni Soul Eco, a brand of Solvay, alongside CiCLO.

In addition to the puffer jacket, ALLIED Feather + Down announced its commitment to sustainability through the initiation of the Future Now program in collaboration with AAG and Templa. This program will kick off with the Designing to Disappear project, aiming to enhance the environmental credentials of the fashion industry.

The advancements in biodegradable fashion underscore a growing trend towards sustainable practices within the industry, with companies increasingly prioritizing eco-friendly materials and methods in their production processes. The announcement reflects a broader movement among retail brands to embrace innovations that mitigate environmental impact while appealing to conscious consumers.
