Andrea Adamo’s latest collection embraces imperfections and risks, showcasing how errors can spur innovative creativity in fashion design.
Andrea Adamo unveiled his fall 2025 collection, “Me/Stake,” at a private runway presentation where the focus was on appreciating the intricate details of his designs. This event marked a continuation of Adamo’s exploration of themes surrounding imperfection and risk, showcasing his philosophy that embracing flaws can lead to unexpected creative outcomes. The collection highlights a duality between the concept of “mistake” and the personal investment in one’s work, suggesting that taking risks is intrinsic to the fashion design process.
Speaking to Vogue, Adamo emphasized the importance of quality in his creations, stating, “This collection holds things even I didn’t expect to find. It took shape in the unexpected. We turned manufacturing errors into design elements. After all, many of the mistakes I’ve made in my life have turned out to be advantages.” This approach to fashion allows for a unique narrative that translates imperfections into stylistic features.
The collection prominently features hand-sewn snap buttons and detailed finishes—a rarity for brands operating at this scale. Adamo’s innovative perspective transformed various manufacturing challenges into key design elements. For instance, a misplaced yarn combination resulted in an engaging blend of bouclé and English ribbed wool, creating a textured appearance in knitwear. Similarly, an overly long sleeve, which was initially pinned with safety pins, ultimately inspired a series of radial pleats that became a recurring motif in the collection.
Additionally, a previously discarded mouliné yarn test in contrasting colors became the basis for stylish stretch dresses adorned with frayed hems. Adamo also introduced his first-ever animal print, a creative outcome of experimenting with velvet yarn within a jacquard viscose weave, which appeared on a variety of garments including tops, bodycon dresses, and cocktail attire.
Color played an essential role in the collection, with an expanded palette featuring taupe and clay alongside traditional nude shades. These neutral colors served to complement a range of skin tones, allowing for a more inclusive approach to the design. The silhouettes within the collection juxtaposed masculine tailoring with flowing shapes, defining Adamo’s vision of sensuality through contrasts that are both deliberate and laden with imperfections.
