At the New York premiere of Netflix’s ‘Zero Day’, Angela Bassett impresses in a stunning little black dress, showcasing modern elegance and style alongside an all-star cast.

Angela Bassett showcased a striking interpretation of the classic little black dress during the red carpet premiere of Netflix’s highly anticipated series “Zero Day” on February 18 in New York City. The acclaimed actress was joined by a star-studded cast, including Robert De Niro, Connie Britton, and Lizzy Caplan.

Bassett’s attire featured a hem that fell just below the knee, accentuated with a subtle sweetheart neckline and a banded waist, which provided elegant definition to her silhouette. The dress was adorned with intricate lace detailing that drew inspiration from botanical motifs, complemented by semi-sheer elements that added a touch of allure.

Completing her ensemble, Bassett donned black silk gloves, paired with black tights and platform heels, creating a cohesive monochrome aesthetic. In a nod to current fashion trends, she added a leopard print coat characterized by a soft collar and a voluminous cut, which brought an element of sophistication to her look.

Her hairstyle bore mod influences, styled straight with fringe framing her face, while her makeup accentuated her features with a smokey eye, long lashes, a radiant complexion, and a glossy lip. To elevate her outfit further, Bassett accessorized with striking gold statement earrings, rounding out her glamorous red carpet presence.

The little black dress, a fashion staple that has transcended decades since its introduction in the 1920s, continues to inspire modern iterations. This year alone, other notable figures, such as Ciara, have put their spin on the dress, showcased recently at Tory Burch’s fall 2025 fashion show during New York Fashion Week. Lily Collins also sported variations of the classic style during her “Emily in Paris” press tour.

“Zero Day,” a six-episode political thriller, explores the ramifications of a global cyberattack and features an ensemble cast that includes Jesse Plemons and Dan Stevens alongside Bassett. The series is set to premiere on Netflix on Thursday, garnering anticipation for its potentially gripping narrative and star contributions.
