The partnership brings together Barbour’s traditional craftsmanship and ERDEM’s poetic femininity, featuring four unique outerwear pieces.
Barbour, the renowned British heritage brand, has officially announced a partnership with London-based fashion house ERDEM to unveil a captivating new capsule collection for Spring/Summer 2025. This collaboration combines the traditional craftsmanship synonymous with Barbour with the poetic femininity characteristic of ERDEM, showcasing four distinct outerwear pieces: The Beauflower, The Dahlia, The Clover, and The Constance.
The collection draws on ERDEM’s commitment to meticulous tailoring and distinctive silhouettes, while also incorporating elements of the natural world, resulting in a contemporary interpretation of classic outerwear. Speaking about the collaboration, Erdem Moralioglu MBE, Creative Director at ERDEM, said, “I was inspired by the extraordinary Barbour archive, particularly their fabrications and hardware, and loved the idea of translating their heritage of practical, utilitarian details while combining it with my own language of femininity.” This statement highlights the thoughtful interplay between Barbour’s historical elements and the fresh perspective brought by ERDEM.
Barbour’s Director of Womenswear, Nicola Brown, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “Following the success of our previous partnership, we are thrilled to offer this collaboration to our customers once again. The collection marries the timeless craftsmanship and quality of both brands, blending ERDEM’s romantic and contemporary aesthetic with Barbour’s most iconic silhouettes and signature wax fabrications.”
In addition to the new collection, the partnership introduces a noteworthy sustainability initiative: the Re-Loved program. This initiative focuses on revitalizing classic Barbour outerwear, specifically the Barbour Beaufort jacket. Twenty-five pre-owned jackets have been thoughtfully restored, incorporating oversized cord collars and silver hardware eyelet embellishments inspired by ERDEM’s Spring/Summer 2024 runway show. The Re-Loved initiative emphasizes sustainability and craftsmanship while celebrating the lasting allure of Barbour’s heritage pieces, now viewed through ERDEM’s modern and refined lens.
As the fashion industry increasingly turns its attention to sustainability, this collaboration between Barbour and ERDEM represents a merging of dedication to quality and contemporary design, offering a fresh take on outerwear that respects both heritage and innovation.
