London: Becca’s Closet, founded by Lani Price, merges high-end vintage fashion with eco-friendly practices. Inspired by her grandmother, Lani offers a curated selection of luxury pieces while promoting community engagement and rental services, thus redefining sustainable fashion’s place in today’s industry.

Becca’s Closet is emerging as a significant player in the vintage fashion scene, offering a meticulously curated selection of high-end vintage pieces while championing eco-friendly practices. Owner Lani Price’s dedication to redefining second-hand style is deeply intertwined with her personal history and passion for vintage fashion, inspired by her grandmother, Becca.

Lani Price’s journey into high-end vintage fashion began in her childhood, where she developed a love for quality textiles and craftsmanship under the guidance of her grandmother. “As a little girl, I would sit at my grandmother’s feet while she shared stories of her love for fashion,” she recalls. This connection not only deepened her appreciation for fashion but also instilled values of etiquette and grace in Lani. The passing of her grandmother prompted her to explore Becca’s belongings, where she uncovered “luxurious fabrics and stunning pieces” that sparked her love for designer vintage. “It was on that life-changing day that I developed a love for designer vintage,” she states, ultimately leading to the inception of Becca’s Closet.

At Becca’s Closet, sustainability is integral to its identity. The boutique sources its pieces from a variety of avenues, including local stores, charities, and even its customers, with every item selected for its superior quality. Lani emphasises her focus on high-end brands known for exceptional design. “I focus on high-end brands of exceptional design and fabric,” she explains. She notes that most items are either unworn or come with their original tags, and any pre-loved items showing wear are restored to extend their lifespan.

The brand distinguishes itself through a commitment not only to luxury but also to accessibility. Lani explains, “I curate high-end pieces that are made for longevity,” highlighting the durability of designer clothing. This commitment is further exemplified by the brand’s rental service for evening gowns, allowing customers to explore new styles without the burden of a one-time purchase.

Among Lani’s most rewarding experiences was witnessing the transformation of a customer who had been struggling with body image. Upon finding a dress that made her feel confident, the customer expressed her emotions by stating, “I never thought I could ever look this beautiful again.” This moment resonated deeply with Lani, emphasising the empowering aspect of fashion.

In addition to retail, Becca’s Closet promotes community engagement through workshops, volunteer opportunities, and collaborative projects, fostering a sense of belonging among its customers. “We achieve more together than we could alone,” Lani articulates, reinforcing the brand’s ethos of collective effort in the fashion landscape.

Through its prioritisation of sustainability and high-quality fashion, Becca’s Closet aligns with the growing interest in eco-conscious choices within the fashion industry. Lani concludes by affirming her vision for the brand, stating, “The future is bright for sustainable fashion, and I see Becca’s Closet as one of the innovators in this movement.” This indicates a forward momentum for vintage-inspired fashion, connecting the dots between the past and contemporary trends, while ensuring relevance in today’s fast-paced fashion world.
