The 18th year of the Brands of Tomorrow initiative introduces 12 innovative brands committed to craftsmanship and sustainability, guided by industry leaders.

The luxury sector is set to welcome a new group of innovative brands as the Brands of Tomorrow initiative enters its 18th year. This program, designed for early-stage brands, guides 12 selected companies through a comprehensive year-long curriculum that includes workshops and mentoring designed to elevate their business practices and product offerings.

Currently, the initiative is chaired by Balthazar Fabricius, the founder of luxury bookmaker Fitzdares and an alumnus of the program from 2007. His leadership aims to steer the program towards fostering a new generation of luxury brands that are committed to craftsmanship and sustainability.

According to Walpole CEO Helen Brocklebank, this year’s cohort stands out for its strong emphasis on heritage craftsmanship with a mission to preserve traditional skills while showcasing a commitment to sustainability. Speaking to Drapers, she noted, “We are delighted to welcome this outstanding selection of businesses to Brands of Tomorrow; each embodying the essence of modern luxury through craftsmanship, innovation, exceptional experiences, and sustainability.”

Brocklebank went on to highlight the core values that these brands represent—originality and quality—characteristics that are paramount to the British luxury sector. “Together, these brands represent the future of luxury, where heritage meets forward-thinking design, and where excellence, authenticity, and responsibility drive the sector forward,” she added.

The program provides participants with access to an impressive roster of mentors, which this year includes prominent figures such as Michael Ward, managing director of Harrods; Sue Fox, former president of Estée Lauder UK and Ireland; and Sean Ghouse, director of retail UK at Fortnum & Mason, among others. These experienced professionals will offer guidance to the selected brands, sharing insights and best practices to help them thrive in the competitive luxury market.
