Iconic singer Cher performed for a star-studded audience as part of the “SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert,” held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The celebration marked 50 years of “Saturday Night Live,” featuring a dazzling lineup alongside Cher, including Miley Cyrus, Bad Bunny, The Roots, Arcade Fire, Backstreet Boys, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, Chris Martin, David Byrne, and Lady Gaga.
At 78 years old, Cher delivered an engaging performance donning an eye-catching black fishnet bodysuit that accentuated her age-defying physique. She performed her well-known 1989 hit, “If I Could Turn Back Time”, while her outfit featured numerous sheer cutouts that captivated the audience. The show is scheduled to last three hours and will be hosted by “Saturday Night Live” star Jimmy Fallon.
Cher was observed arriving at the venue in a distinctive monochrome puffer jacket before taking the stage. Although she announced her intention to scale back her music career last year after an impressive six-decade run, she confirmed that she is set to release her next album, which she suggested could be her final collection. Speaking to an audience at the Lyceum Theatre in London, Cher remarked on her career, saying, “I’m older than dirt now, OK? I’m the oldest person I meet in almost every room unless I’m in an old folks’ home.” This new album will be her first since 2013.
Cher is currently in a relationship with rapper Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards, who is 38 years old—40 years her junior. The couple first drew attention when they were seen together in November 2022, and they appear to be thriving despite scrutiny regarding their significant age difference. Cher commented on this disparity on social media, stating, “Love doesn’t know math.” Edwards shares a son with his ex-partner, Amber Rose, who has expressed her contentment with Cher and AE’s relationship, noting that it provides stability for their son. Rose stated, “I’m very happy that [Alexander is] with Cher because it creates stability for when [our] son goes over there.”
Cher’s past relationships have also been in the public eye, notably her tumultuous marriage to Sonny Bono from 1964 to 1975. Cher has shared that the couple’s joint venture, “The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour,” played a role in their prolonged marriage, stating, “Doing the show kept us together, because on the show, we had so much fun.”
