The UK’s largest thrift market, Clothes Cycle, will be back in Manchester on March 30, 2024, featuring over 100 sellers and a focus on sustainability at Victoria Baths.

Clothes Cycle, the UK’s largest thrift market, is set to return to Manchester on March 30, 2024, bringing a vibrant mix of shopping, entertainment, and community engagement to the historic Victoria Baths. The event promises an extensive lineup featuring more than 100 sellers, offering everything from vintage clothing to designer accessories.

Victoria Baths, a Grade II-listed venue known for its stunning architecture and heritage, will host this significant event from 11 am to 5 pm. In addition to the marketplace, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a clothes swap, allowing individuals to exchange up to five items for something new and fresh. This initiative aims to promote sustainable fashion and reduce textile waste, aligning with the rising trend of environmentally conscious consumer behavior.

The market will also feature several food options, with street food vendors and a dedicated matcha bar run by Bird & Blend Tea. Attendees can enjoy a variety of refreshments at the additional market bar, which will serve cocktails, wine, beer, and coffee. The event will be accompanied by a lively atmosphere, with DJs and live music performances from emerging artists enhancing the experience.

Tickets for the event start at £4.50 for general admission when purchased online, with door prices set at £6. VIP tickets are priced at £6.50, providing early access to the market. Children under 12 can attend for free.

Clothes Cycle is the brainchild of Poppy Collingwood-Cameron, a university student who founded the market three years ago to encourage interest in sustainable fashion. She expressed her frustration with traditional online thrifting platforms, stating, “I found that the in-person thrifting events I attended were usually overwhelming and involved low-quality stock… This inspired me to create a space where thrifting was fun, enticing and not off-putting.”

This upcoming event marks the fifth gathering of Clothes Cycle in Manchester, further solidifying its presence as a significant player in the city’s thrift culture. Attendees can expect a thoughtfully curated experience that celebrates pre-loved fashion while fostering a sense of community among fashion enthusiasts and environmentally conscious consumers.
