Custo Barcelona showcases its Fall/Winter 2025/2026 collection at Milan Fashion Week, emphasizing individuality and emotional expression through a diverse range of styles.

Custo Barcelona has made a vibrant return to Milan Fashion Week, showcasing its Fall/Winter 2025/2026 collection in a spirited fashion show held on the eve of the event. The Spanish designer brand, launched by brothers Custodio and David Dalmau in 1981, presented an eclectic range of styles aimed at both men and women, highlighting its commitment to individuality and emotional expression.

Custodio Dalmau, speaking to The SPIN OFF, emphasized the ethos behind the new collection, stating, “We develop a collection of emotional pieces aimed at men and women who want to express their energy and individuality.” The collection featured an impressive lineup, including 12 looks for men and 42 for women, each designed to convey the brand’s playful and imaginative aesthetic.

As part of its global expansion strategy, Custo Barcelona is focusing on increasing its presence in Italy and across Europe, despite the United States already accounting for 25% of its sales. Notably, this season marks a departure from their usual New York Fashion Week show, as the brand instead plans to unveil its collection in Miami following the Milan presentation. This shift aligns with the brand’s plan for various strategic investments to foster growth in new markets.

The design house has also been proactive in participating in key fashion events, previously engaging in the White Milano fair and planning to return for its next edition on February 25. Additionally, Custo Barcelona has attended the last two iterations of Pitti Uomo in Florence, focusing on enhancing its menswear offerings, which currently represent 15% of sales but are expected to grow further.

In conjunction with their runway show, Custo Barcelona unveiled a refreshed e-commerce platform, recognizing the importance of online retail. Dalmau expressed optimism about the digital sales channel, stating, “We strongly believe in the importance of e-commerce, as it is the channel that grows faster. For us, it represents 10% of our sales, but we are pushing to make it grow further.” The brand operates 15 monobrand stores globally, supplemented by multi-brand retail partnerships, while acknowledging the current challenges faced by physical retail avenues.

The fashion show itself commenced with a visually striking short film featuring anthropomorphic animals adorned with futuristic eyewear against a backdrop of reimagined natural landscapes, hinting at the collection’s motifs. As the models took to the runway, they exuded an ’80s-inspired party atmosphere, characterized by bold metallic fabrics, ruffles, and gypsy-inspired multilayer gowns for women. This exuberance was balanced by the inclusion of classic black and white lurex blazers, which added a subtle seriousness to the otherwise vibrant offerings.

On the menswear front, the designs incorporated long coats and suits, juxtaposed with casual elements like cream-white sweatshirts and long-sleeved tees adorned with playful all-over prints of animals such as zebras, lions, and bears. This unique blend of sophistication and whimsicality showcased Custo Barcelona’s dedication to innovative fashion and its vision for the future.
