Academy Award-winning actress Da’Vine Joy Randolph took the stage again at the Oscars, this time presenting the Best Supporting Actress award, a year after her own win.

Da’Vine Joy Randolph, the Academy Award-winning actress, returned to the Oscars stage this evening, but in a significantly different capacity than last year. Nearly a year after winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in “The Holdovers,” Randolph took on the role of presenter for the same award. This year’s nominees included notable talents like Monica Barbaro in “A Complete Unknown,” Ariana Grande in “Wicked,” Felicity Jones in “The Brutalist,” Isabella Rossellini in “Conclave,” with Zoe Saldaña eventually taking home the award for her role in “Emilia Pérez.”

In her previous appearances, Randolph captivated audiences with her emotional acceptance speech at the Oscars, where she expressed her gratitude and aspirations for future roles, saying, “I pray to God I get to do this again.” As she graced the stage this year, her makeup artist Sheika Daley, once again highlighted Randolph’s ability to shine under the bright lights of the ceremony. Randolph’s glamorous look featured blonde waves, bronzed makeup, and dramatic eyeshadow, all of which were designed to withstand the emotional weight of the evening.

Randolph has articulated her preference for understated makeup in her everyday life. However, she embraces the opportunity to showcase her beauty in a more extravagant manner during awards season. “I like to keep my makeup pretty simple and gravitate toward products and looks that make me feel most like myself,” she explained in an email. Despite her preference, awards season presents a canvas for creative expression, allowing her to narrate her journey through distinctive hairstyles and makeup styles.

For tonight’s presentation, the glam team crafted a look that combined elements of timeless elegance with contemporary appeal. Daley described the inspiration drawn from Old Hollywood, adapting vintage beauty standards to fit modern aesthetics, emphasizing dewy, luminous skin paired with defined eyes and plush lips. The makeup process involved using Lancôme products designed for longevity, ensuring that Randolph’s look would withstand the rigors of a high-profile event, from red-carpet appearances to after-parties.

Achieving the perfect balance of glow was essential, as Daley explained the importance of not appearing overly shiny or matte under the bright lights of the Oscars. She applied Lancôme Absolue Soft Cream Moisturizer for hydration, allowing a long-wear foundation to appear natural and flawless on screen. The use of strategic layering and setting products helped maintain this balance, keeping Randolph radiant throughout the night.

Daley also focused on creating dimension in Randolph’s eyes, using a blend of cream and powder textures enhanced with Lancôme’s Hypnôse Drama Mascara for significant lash volume. Meanwhile, hairstylist Tai Simon showcased a caramel-copper pixie cut that complemented Randolph’s overall look, using specialized toners and protection products to achieve and maintain the style.

This artistic collaboration between Randolph, Daley, and Simon encapsulated the essence of awards season glamour, creating a look that not only highlighted Randolph’s natural beauty but also marked her involvement in a prestigious event as she celebrated the achievements of her fellow nominees on this significant night in Hollywood.
