When discussing the vibrant shopping scene in Bangkok, many travelers typically mention popular destinations like Chatuchak Weekend Market, Platinum Mall, and CentralwOrld. However, emerging local fashion labels are beginning to carve out a unique niche, showcasing a rich tapestry of creativity that reflects the diverse culture and talent found within Thailand.

Bangkok’s fashion landscape is marked by an array of homegrown brands that are rising to prominence, offering diverse styles that range from whimsical to chic. Notable among these are TandT, Stolen Studios, and Kloset, each presenting its own distinct aesthetic.

TandT, designed by Thanawut Thanasarnvimon, has gained traction for its innovative mix of girlish and rebellious fashions. The brand’s offerings include playful designs such as poufy tulle skirts paired with sporty anoraks, bloomer shorts, and cartoonish tees married with organza tailoring. “Expect everything surprising and special,” says a representative from the brand.

Stolen Studios, rooted within the popular multi-label store Stolen Stores, appeals to those seeking contemporary trends with a romantic edge. The brand’s pieces, which include dressy bustier tops and eye-catching ruffled skirts, have attracted a celebrity clientele that features names like Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande.

Kloset has been a staple since its inception in 2001, known for its fun and quirky approach to ready-to-wear pieces. The brand emphasizes bright prints and eccentric designs, boasting items such as acid-colored tops and playful minidresses that provide a smile to anyone who wears them.

Among the established names, FLYNOW stands out for its elegant women’s wear, producing sophisticated dresses, ball skirts, and gowns that often feature architectural silhouettes. Established in 1983, FLYNOW has become synonymous with dressier attire suitable for special occasions.

Rounding out the selection, the fashion hub HIDE, located in Ari, offers a variety of edgy and affordable unisex brands, including their in-house line, H . BY H I D E. Owned by a couple named Tao and Fang, the store emphasizes a warm and inviting shopping experience, showcasing clothes presented as if from a personal collection.

Blackdog, another local favorite, is renowned for its bold and unexpected designs. The brand experiments with proportion and textures, creating whimsical items like knitted vegetable tops and extravagant gowns.

An eclectic swimwear store named Blulagoon is located in Siam Square and prioritizes eco-friendly practices. It features brands such as The Apple Buns, known for creating swimsuits from recycled fabrics, alongside a multitude of handmade accessories and vintage clothing.

Other notable brands include Landmee, celebrated for its campy, girly pop designs; Mitr, recognized for its resort wear and sustainable practices; and Lick and Promise, which focuses on sustainable fashion using deadstock materials.

Bangkok’s menswear scene is also increasingly vibrant, with Leisure Projects offering “city boy meets beach” aesthetics through tropical-inspired pieces that incorporate unexpected elements into traditional menswear.

With a selection that includes both artistic femininity in the form of Pennyy Pincher and chic formal designs from VirginX, Bangkok’s fashion scene displayed through these local brands highlights a commitment to both creativity and individuality.

Patraporn Bunnag, a local influencer and brand owner of Plain Jayne, shared insights into her vision, explaining that her brand aims to represent the essence of every woman with versatile, everyday clothing. “We try to subvert stereotypes by encouraging women to be more comfortable in their skin,” she noted.

This burgeoning fashion landscape signifies Bangkok’s status as a must-visit destination for shoppers seeking innovative and emerging brands from the vibrant Thai fashion scene.
