The announcement was made on Tuesday, as the brand commemorates its 30th anniversary alongside its Fall/Winter 2025 collection.
The Skate Moss boots first gained attention on the runway during the Fall/Winter 2011 show at Milan Fashion Week, where they emerged as a trendsetter in fashion. Co-founders Dean and Dan Caten drew inspiration from their childhood passion for figure skating in Canada, creating a unique design that resembles an ice skate. The boots are characterised by their lace-up stiletto form and feature a striking metallic “blade” that serves as a sole.
The newly reissued version is crafted from high-quality leather made in Italy and is offered in a snow-white colourway with a platform design. The retail price is set at $3,190, a significant increase from the original pricing in 2011, which ranged from $1,485 to $1,895.
In recent months, the Skate Moss boots have seen a revival, notably with public figures like Mariah the Scientist and Julia Fox spotted wearing them. Fox showcased the boots while promoting her film “Presence” during an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” last month, further contributing to the boot’s resurgence.
Additionally, in January, Dsquared2 leveraged TikTok to reconnect with fans over the nostalgic design, leading to enthusiastic comments from users, including the tennis star Naomi Osaka, who expressed her desire for the return of the boots, stating, “Please bring these back, I’ve been trying to find my size for years.”
Now, with the official announcement of their pre-order status, fans and fashion enthusiasts alike have the opportunity to acquire this sought-after style once again.
