Eva Mendes blends humor and style on Instagram, promoting an eco-friendly fashion campaign while addressing societal values through her creative endeavors.

In a recent display of creativity and advocacy, Eva Mendes combined humor with fashion on her Instagram platform, sharing a meme featuring the iconic grumpy cat Garfield, echoing the sentiments many feel about Mondays. The meme humorously illustrated the “Monday blues,” resonating with her audience while showcasing Mendes in a striking pink coat by designer Stella McCartney.

Mendes’ choice of attire is emblematic of her involvement in a cause that reflects her values. The coat, crafted from “96% conscious materials,” is part of a campaign McCartney launched in September. The campaign is spearheaded by the message: “IT’S ABOUT F*ING TIME,” which advocates for the cessation of using fur, leather, and feathers in fashion. This initiative highlights the alarming figure of over 3.4 billion birds that suffer harm or fatality each year for feather down, while also emphasizing the pressing necessity to protect avian species, nearly half of which are experiencing population declines.

Expressing her gratitude towards McCartney, Mendes stated, “Gracias for getting me out of hiding, Stella! So incredibly proud of this one. Was the job I never knew I needed. Being involved with such an environmentally conscious brand that is cruelty-free in all ways has been a game changer for me on a cellular level.” This statement reflects her commitment to projects that align with her ethical stance and personal values.

Furthermore, Mendes has clarified her recent shift in focus from acting to other ventures by stating she had never quit the profession. Instead, she chose to prioritize her family and engage in projects that resonate with her socially and environmentally conscious ideals. In line with this ethos, she released a children’s book titled “Desi, Mami & the Never-Ending Worries,” which aims to address the topic of anxiety among young readers. Mendes described the book as a “love letter to my kids and yours” and raised pertinent questions regarding the societal valuation of motherhood compared to celebrity status.

Mendes’ fashion statement aligns with a broader trend of the color pink gaining prominence in 2025. The color has become a staple in wardrobes, frequently seen on carpets and in everyday settings. Celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, and Katie Holmes have also embraced the pink trend, each making headlines with their standout performances in the hue, exemplifying its widespread popularity. Lopez was notably photographed in a eye-catching pink faux fur coat embellished with rhinestone bows, while Grande donned a stunning pink Loewe gown at a red carpet event. Even Queen Rania of Jordan made an impression in an Oscar de la Renta dress, showcasing the color’s universal appeal this year.

Through her fashion choices and her current advocacy efforts, Mendes is not only making a statement about personal style but also fostering discussions on the environmental impacts of fashion and societal values concerning motherhood.
