Jiwa’s innovative designs gain recognition as she showcases unique creations at high-profile events like ‘Gladiator II’ and ‘House of Dragons.’
Fashion designer Jiwa is garnering attention for her innovative approach to dressing for high-profile film premieres, with notable appearances at events such as “Bridgerton” and “Gladiator II.” Jiwa’s design for “Gladiator II,” created by Raahim Khan, gained viral attention due to its intricate armor-inspired aesthetic. In discussing her creation process, Jiwa stated, “We discussed deep into the details—colors, fabrics, textures, the overall mood—even down to how I would carry the fabric while walking.” She further elaborated on the inspiration behind the outfit, notably how the sash was styled in a manner reminiscent of the Roman era, drawing from Denzel Washington’s character. Jiwa emphasized, “Every part of this outfit, from the pleats to the structure, was planned with intention.”
At the premiere of “House of Dragons,” Jiwa showcased a custom creation by student designer Anzila Aftab that echoed the show’s fantasy themes. “The vision was inspired by the Faceless Men from Game of Thrones,” Jiwa explained. She described the dress as featuring layered veils and deep red tones, adorned with striking gold details, calling it a piece people might either appreciate or not, stating, “It was one of those pieces where you either get it or you don’t—and that’s fine by me. I like something with a little bite to it.”
Unlike typical red carpet hosts, who often opt for classic gowns or suits, Jiwa embraces a bold and adventurous style that commands attention. She remarked, “Method and concept dressing is one of my favorite parts of attending events. Fashion is such a powerful form of art and expression, and I love using it as a way to connect with the movie.” Looking ahead, Jiwa is enthusiastic about upcoming projects, mentioning her excitement for “How to Train Your Dragon,” which she believes will allow her to explore Viking elements and dragon themes, as well as other anticipated events like “Avatar: Fire and Ash,” “Wednesday” season two, and new Superman adaptations. She anticipates a year filled with creative expression in fashion.
