Fashion enthusiasts gathered at The Gardens on El Paseo for a vibrant kickoff to Fashion Week El Paseo 2025, featuring a tribute to designer Pierre Cardin and a unique collection from The Ebersole Hughes Company.

As twilight enveloped the landscape, the highly anticipated Fashion Week El Paseo 2025 commenced at The Gardens on El Paseo in Palm Desert, California, attracting an audience of stylish attendees. The event, marked by a play of vibrant colors and shimmering attire, drew fashion enthusiasts who were eager to witness both a celebration of style and a nod to the illustrious career of designer Pierre Cardin. This evening’s festivities were presented by Bobbi Lampros and served as a fundraiser for Shay’s Warriors Life After Cancer, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting those affected by cancer.

The inaugural night of Fashion Week kicked off with a unique showcase featuring a collection from The Ebersole Hughes Company, aptly named Caftanes Galore of Mérida. The collection was crafted from vintage Pierre Cardin scarves, infusing the designer’s classic prints with modern flair, suitable for the Coachella Valley’s chic scene. Models glided down the runway, embodying the spirit of the collection with their movements, enhanced by striking statement jewelry designed by Stephanie Lake. This presentation not only honored Cardin’s legacy but also reinterpreted his iconic designs, making them accessible to contemporary audiences.

The creative minds behind the collection, filmmakers P. David Ebersole and Todd Hughes, had previously explored Cardin’s life in their 2019 documentary, House of Cardin. The runway show served as an extension of their artistic vision, transforming archival materials into fresh fashion statements. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement and admiration as attendees awaited the upcoming displays that promised to continue the exploration of historical and innovative fashion trends in the following days of the event.
