Fendi partners with American bootmaker Red Wing to unveil a collection of women’s boots in spring 2025, celebrating craftsmanship and design.
Fendi, the renowned luxury fashion house, has announced a partnership with American bootmaker Red Wing to launch a collection of women’s boots set to debut in spring 2025. This collaboration highlights the strengths of both brands and is accompanied by a campaign photographed at their respective factories located in Italy and Minnesota.
The partnership first emerged during the 2024 Milan Fashion Week, where Red Wing work boots were featured prominently in Fendi’s show. Despite their differing origins—Fendi from Italy and Red Wing from the United States—the two family-owned brands share a commitment to craftsmanship and have both established significant longevity in the fashion industry.
The year 2025 is poised to be momentous for both companies, as Fendi is celebrating its 100th anniversary while Red Wing marks 120 years in business. According to an official statement regarding their collaboration, both brands aim to reflect “complementary values as well as aesthetic contrasts this season.”
The newly crafted Red Wing Fendi boot will features Fendi’s distinctive Cuoio Romano leather and Selleria hand stitching. It will also incorporate a unique color palette of sienna red and natural beige, all while maintaining the Classic Moc silhouette that has been a hallmark of Red Wing since its inception in 1952.
The production of the Red Wing Fendi boot is a meticulous process that showcases international craftsmanship. The upper portion of the boot is created in Fendi’s factory in Capannucia, Italy, where skilled artisans apply the brand’s signature FF interlace workmanship by hand—a process that spans five hours. Following this, the boot piece is sent to the United States, where it undergoes further delicate handcrafting utilizing traditional shoemaking techniques that Red Wing has perfected over its century-long history. Each pair involves the expertise of over 30 artisans and consists of more than 80 intricate steps to complete.
Silvia Venturini Fendi, who serves as the artistic director of accessories and menswear at Fendi, commented on the collaboration, stating, “The Red Wing boot, the sporty attitude worn with an evening dress, these shoes are made for walking. They’re made for busy women.”
As anticipation builds for this unique blend of high fashion and practical design, the collaboration promises to deliver products that resonate with both style and functionality.
