Accra: The Green Revolution Project, a partnership between Eurven Srl and BG Baidoo Global, aims to transform waste management in Ghana by introducing advanced recycling technology, promoting sustainability, and creating economic opportunities ahead of its April 2025 launch.

In a significant development poised to revolutionise waste management in Ghana, Italian company Eurven Srl, alongside its Ghanaian partner BG Baidoo Global, is set to introduce an innovative recycling initiative in April 2025. The project, named the “Green Revolution Project”, aims to reshape the country’s approach to sustainability and environmental responsibility through advanced recycling technology and eco-friendly initiatives.

Brian Bismark Baidoo, President of BG Baidoo Global, highlighted the transformative advantages of the Green Revolution Project, particularly its potential impact across Africa. He stated the project’s objective is to create an efficient waste management system that not only diminishes waste volume but also encourages residents to engage actively in recycling efforts. “Ghana is poised to lead the way in adopting green technology and sustainable practices. This project will not only benefit our environment but also create opportunities for economic growth and job creation,” Mr. Baidoo remarked.

Carlo Alberto Baesso, President of Eurven Group, underscored the company’s eagerness to collaborate with local authorities and private sector stakeholders in Ghana. He affirmed their commitment to sustainability, emphasizing the importance of innovative technology in minimising environmental repercussions. Mr. Baesso pointed out that Ghana would be the inaugural African nation to implement their revolutionary waste compactors and recycling systems.

Preliminary discussions have been held with Amin Abdul Rahaman, the Chief Director at the Ministry of Local Government and Religious Affairs, who expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative. These discussions focused on deploying Eurven’s cutting-edge recycling machines at strategic locations across the country, including public spaces, supermarkets, shopping centres, and other areas with high foot traffic.

“This partnership aligns perfectly with our vision for a cleaner, greener Ghana. The introduction of Eurven’s technology will not only address our waste management challenges but also create opportunities for economic growth and environmental sustainability,” stated Mr. Abdul Rahaman.

Eurven Srl is known for its expertise in manufacturing Eco Compactor/RVM machines that specialise in waste compaction and recycling systems, with operations in over five countries. The company’s machines are designed to enhance the efficiency of waste management practices. Unlike traditional recycling systems, these machines leverage a unique compaction technology that decreases waste volume without crushing it, thereby facilitating more effective storage and transportation.

As Ghana prepares for the launch of the Green Revolution Project, stakeholders are optimistic about the potential for improved waste management and the creation of economic opportunities within the country.
