Hana Financial Group’s ‘Haebom Closet’ initiative promotes carbon neutrality and community sharing, gathering over 52,000 donated items since its launch.
Hana Financial Group has launched the 13th edition of its spring clothing donation initiative, ‘Haebom Closet,’ aimed at promoting carbon neutrality and a culture of donation. This year’s campaign commenced and will continue until April 25, furthering the group’s commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.
Since its inception in July 2020, ‘Haebom Closet’ has gathered significant momentum, leading to a cumulative total of 52,101 donated items and participation from 3,291 individuals. The initiative not only encourages the practice of zero waste but also fosters a culture of sharing among the community members.
Chairman Ham Young-joo emphasized the importance of this campaign, expressing gratitude to both guests and employees who contribute to its success. A representative from Hana Financial Group’s ESG Win-Win Finance Team remarked, “We express our gratitude to the guests and employees who shared warmth and generosity in the 13th edition of our group’s representative ESG campaign ‘Haebom Closet’.” They further indicated that the organization will persist in its social responsibilities towards marginalized groups and strive to lead the practice of ESG management in local communities.
Participation in the ‘Haebom Closet’ campaign can be facilitated through the bank’s mobile application, ‘Hana OneQ’. Individuals can also donate by visiting designated clothing donation boxes located in the lobbies of Hana Financial Group’s various buildings, including those in Myeongdong, Euljiro, Gangnam, Yeouido, and Cheongna, as well as any branches of Hana Bank, Hana Securities, and Hana Savings Bank. For donors who are unable to visit these locations, a complimentary shipping service is available via the event’s webpage on ‘Hana OneQ’. Donors can also apply for a donation receipt to qualify for tax deduction benefits during year-end settlement.
Donated items are not limited to clothing; unpolluted bags and dolls are also accepted. All collected donations will be forwarded to the Beautiful Foundation for screening and subsequent sale, with proceeds supporting vulnerable populations.
In addition to the ‘Haebom Closet,’ Hana Financial Group actively engages in various other ESG initiatives, such as the ‘Acorn Tree Donation Campaign’, ‘Step Donation Campaign’, and ‘Small Business Happiness Box Donation’, which align with their mission of “growing together and sharing happiness through finance.”
The campaign underscores the organization’s ongoing commitment to social impact, encouraging widespread participation to support those in need.
