Hania Aamir impresses at a recent event in a stunning gown from Rahul Mishra’s ‘Superheroes’ collection, inspired by nature and its delicate balance.

Hania Aamir recently showcased an eye-catching ensemble at a prominent event, wearing the ‘Queen of Thar’ gown from Rahul Mishra’s latest collection, titled ‘Superheroes’. The gown draws inspiration from Mishra’s fascination with nature and the essential roles played by insects and other small beings in the ecosystem. This creative approach is reflected not only in the gown’s design, which emulates the luxurious appearance of a beetle, but also in the intricately encrusted tulle dupatta that Aamir carried alongside the gown, making for a bespoke addition to her overall look.

Mishra’s ‘Superheroes’ collection carries a deeper meaning, reminiscent of a time when the only beings existing in harmony were insects, snakes, and what he refers to as “benign creatures”. The collection celebrates the delicate balance of nature while emphasizing the elegance found within it. Aamir, known for her stylish appearances, complemented the gown with her signature beauty look—flushed cheeks, natural skin, and old Hollywood-style waves. This was notably akin to her previous choice when she wore a cerulean blue lehenga by Itrh Official, which also boasted exquisite detailing.

Vogue India’s fashion desk provided insights into recreating a similar look for others. Associate Fashion Editor Divya Balakrishnan suggested beginning with a metallic hue that aligns well with one’s skin tone, such as warm rose gold, sleek silver, or muted gold. Balakrishnan recommends transitioning the gown into a chic, fitted sleeveless crop top paired with a mermaid-style skirt for a contemporary twist. The essence of elegance, according to Balakrishnan, lies in opting for a sheer dupatta made from lightweight, tone-on-tone fabric. To infuse a touch of drama into the ensemble, she advises selecting statement heels in striking colors like deep hot red to contrast with gold or rich lilac to enhance rose gold ensembles, while a bold metallic blue can create a sophisticated counterpoint to silver. Minimal accessories are encouraged to allow the outfit to take center stage.

Notably, this is not the first time Mishra’s work has garnered attention on a significant platform. His couture designs have previously represented Indian heritage, such as during the Emmy Awards 2024 and the 2024 Grammy Awards, showcasing the striking insect-inspired garments worn by international celebrities like Janelle Monáe.
