The gown draws inspiration from Mishra’s fascination with nature and the essential roles played by insects and other small beings in the ecosystem. This creative approach is reflected not only in the gown’s design, which emulates the luxurious appearance of a beetle, but also in the intricately encrusted tulle dupatta that Aamir carried alongside the gown, making for a bespoke addition to her overall look.
Mishra’s ‘Superheroes’ collection carries a deeper meaning, reminiscent of a time when the only beings existing in harmony were insects, snakes, and what he refers to as “benign creatures”. The collection celebrates the delicate balance of nature while emphasizing the elegance found within it. The essence of elegance, according to Balakrishnan, lies in opting for a sheer dupatta made from lightweight, tone-on-tone fabric.
