The Hollywood Reporter is preparing for the upcoming 2025 Oscars with a special streaming preshow titled “Awards Countdown: Oscars Edition,” set to broadcast from the iconic El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. This event will take place on Sunday, offering audiences expert analysis, insider predictions, and exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage related to the highly anticipated ceremony.
Scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. ET, the preshow will provide insights into key award categories such as best actor, best actress, and best picture. The program aims to address questions surrounding potential winners, including whether Demi Moore will take home the best actress award and deliver an emotional acceptance speech, or if Timothée Chalamet could become the youngest individual to be awarded best actor. The Hollywood Reporter’s experts will discuss these inquiries and offer their final predictions for the event.
In addition to award predictions, the preshow will delve into the evolving trends of red carpet fashion, offering a retrospective view of styles throughout Oscar history. There will also be coverage of exclusive Oscar-night parties and private events, along with a look at the logistical challenges of producing the awards telecast and what to expect from this year’s host, Conan O’Brien.
