Ivanka Trump captivates social media with a throwback look inspired by actress Blake Lively, showcasing a glamorous bodycon dress while also reflecting on her family’s connection to Ellis Island.

Ivanka Trump has recently drawn attention on social media by emulating the style of actress Blake Lively from the iconic television series “Gossip Girl.” In a post on Instagram dated Sunday night, she showcased a gold-and-black sequined bodycon dress designed by Peter Pilotto, which originally debuted in the designer’s Fall 2012 Ready to Wear Collection. The dress is notable for its criss-cross cut-out at the bust, complemented by a choker and intricate floral beading at the knee-length hemline.

This particular dress was worn by Lively’s character, Serena van der Woodsen, in the sixth season of “Gossip Girl,” specifically in the episode titled “Save The Last Chance.” For her social media revisit of the look, Ivanka opted for a more practical ensemble—pairing the glamorous gown with black ballet flats, although one of her feet was clad in an orthopedic boot due to a recent toe injury she had disclosed a week prior. “Saturday in the City,” she captioned the post, cheerfully adding, “Got my boot to boot.”

Despite the fact that Peter Pilotto has ceased operations as a brand, dresses similar to the one Ivanka wore can still be found on resale websites like Vestiaire Collective, often fetching prices starting at $29,000. While the look is over a decade old, it seemed to resonate well with her followers and friends, receiving compliments in the comments. Notably, Lauren Sánchez, currently engaged to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, shared a heart emoji, and designer Ronny Kobo echoed this sentiment. Stylist Gayle Perry left a supportive message wishing Ivanka a speedy recovery.

In a recent prior post before the dress reveal, Ivanka shared a family photo taken on a boat near the Statue of Liberty, a significant landmark tied to the immigrant experience in the United States. Accompanied by her husband, Jared Kushner, and their three children—Arabella, 13, Joseph, 10, and Theodore, 8—Ivanka expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to visit Ellis Island, where many immigrants began their journey to America. In the caption, she noted, “It was very special to bring my children, each born in New York, to the very place where over 12 million began their American journey.” She further highlighted her own connection, mentioning that nearly 40 percent of U.S. citizens can trace an ancestor to Ellis Island.

Ivanka’s post emphasized the significance of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty as enduring symbols of “hope, resilience, and new beginnings,” a sentiment that contrasts sharply with the stricter immigration policies her father, Donald Trump, implemented during his presidency.
