Renowned designer Jenny Packham finds inspiration in early 19th century France, presenting a collection that blends modern luxury with historical elegance.

For the fall 2025 collection, renowned designer Jenny Packham drew inspiration from the early 19th century, selecting Madame Juliette Récamier, a prominent French socialite of the period, as her muse. Known for her salons in Paris and a distinctive fashion sense that often included forgoing traditional petticoats and corsets, Récamier was celebrated not only for her beauty but also for her affinity for neoclassicism. “She was incredibly stylish—she wore clothes that were a bit more soft and flowing,” Packham stated in an interview with Vogue. “She was also known for her interest in neoclassicism.”

Packham’s collection showcases a carefully curated color palette, featuring shades of gray, neutral tones, petrol blues, and metallics such as silver and gold, which Packham asserts are reflective of the era. The silhouettes range from straight and sheath to subtly A-line, with many dresses adorned with bold embellishments, including one design embellished with sun-and-moon-like discs and another featuring a beaded fringe front. “It’s almost like we discovered a new sequin that looks sort of ion gold,” Packham commented, highlighting her excitement over the luxurious materials used in the collection.

A notable aspect of this collection is the inclusion of long sleeves, a practical design choice intended to coincide with the colder weather expected in New York and London when the collection becomes available. Despite these considerations, Packham has recently found a growing clientele in Southern California. Celebrities like Julia Louis-Dreyfus were spotted in her designs at the SAG Awards, while Toni Collette wore Packham to the premiere of her latest film, “Mickey 17.” Moreover, the eye-catching “ion gold” sequin dress made its debut on Connie Britton at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, shortly after being photographed for Packham’s lookbook.

Packham continues to exhibit an astute understanding of her customer base, consistently meeting the demands of women of all ages who seek out her dresses for various occasions, whether they be movie premieres, galas, or weddings. With this collection, she has successfully checked all the boxes for aspirational event dressing.
