New York: Jonathan Cohen’s latest collection melds refined femininity with athletic influences, showcasing the elegance of Elizabeth Taylor and the legacy of Muhammad Ali. Emphasising sustainability, the designs feature repurposed materials and introduce a new eyewear line, exemplifying a commitment to eco-friendly fashion innovations.

Innovations in sustainable fashion are at the forefront of Jonathan Cohen’s upcoming Fall Winter 2025-2026 collection, which showcases a unique blend of refined femininity and athletic inspiration. The collection is set to explore themes of sophistication while drawing influences from both the timeless glamour of Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor and the powerful legacy of boxing champion Muhammad Ali.

Cohen’s designs feature boxing influences evident in the use of materials such as silk satin and velvet to create luxe shorts and ribbed knit tanks. Striped pleated dresses further enhance this sporty vibe, seamlessly interwoven with elements of luxury. The designer’s ongoing partnership with Larroudé brings forward matching boxing boots, further deepening the collection’s athletic nuances.

Taylor’s signature elegance is captured through intricate details like embroidered floral motifs and a jacquard topcoat adorned with her iconic eyes. The collection also showcases embellished eveningwear that pays homage to the classic style associated with the star.

A significant emphasis on sustainability is woven throughout Cohen’s work. Tailored lady jackets made from repurposed materials exemplify the designer’s commitment to environmentally friendly practices, while unexpected contemporary twists are introduced with pieces like a slashed leather skirt featuring lace insets and layered denim outfits.

The collection also marks a new venture for Cohen with the launch of his inaugural eyewear line, created in collaboration with Selima Optique. This new range draws inspiration from the bold, graphic aesthetic associated with Siouxsie Sioux, reflecting Cohen’s innovative approach to design.

The collection was presented in an engaging gallery-style format at Rockefeller Center, where it was complemented by artistic campaign imagery and mood boards. Jonathan Cohen’s dedication to celebrating the creative women who have inspired his brand reinforces his distinctive ethos—merging classic elegance with contemporary innovations in fashion. This collection stands as a testament to how fashion can be both aesthetically pleasing and mindful of its environmental impact, demonstrating the potential of second-hand clothing and slow fashion in promoting sustainable style choices.
