London: JUAN VG unveils its CLOSER TO YOU(TH) collection, celebrating three years of upcycling innovation. The collection explores the emotional complexities of late twenties through essential wardrobe basics, embodying a rebellious style that encourages self-reflection and personal discovery during tumultuous times.
JUAN VG has unveiled its latest capsule collection, CLOSER TO YOU(TH), marking a significant milestone as the brand celebrates three years of innovation in upcycling fashion. The new collection features a refreshed logo and remains aligned with the brand’s core identity, which emphasises essential wardrobe basics while embodying a distinctive naïve and rebellious style.
The inspiration for CLOSER TO YOU(TH) draws from the emotional complexities typically encountered in one’s late twenties, encapsulating themes of questioning and self-reflection. The collection aims to resonate with those experiencing a mixture of emotions, such as happiness, sadness, loneliness, and confusion. Central to its theme are probing questions like “Am I happy?”, “Will anyone love me?”, and “What will become of my life?”. Each piece in the collection serves as a reflection of the uncertainty that accompanies this stage of life and encourages wearers to navigate through it.
The collection is characterised by a blend of emotions—melancholic, nostalgic, intimate, rebellious, and romantic—with an undertone of madness and instability, which captures the tumultuous journey of self-discovery and learning to embrace and accept oneself.
The creative direction and production of CLOSER TO YOU(TH) were led by JUAN VG himself, with photography by Anna Mendiola, styling by Raúl Gonzalez, and makeup crafted by Noeli Pastor. The styling team also included assistants Raúl Martinez and Diego Garrido, and the photography was supported by assistant Nuria Auberni.
Models featured in this collection include Jude Franklin, Pheisi, Pol, and Biel, whose contributions highlight the versatility and statement-making quality of the offerings.
