Dunedin: New Zealand fashion designer Juliette Hogan will participate in the 2025 iD Dunedin Fashion Show as both a catwalk participant and a judge for the iD Awards, further promoting sustainability in the industry alongside other notable designers like Zambesi.
Celebrated New Zealand fashion designer Juliette Hogan is set to make a significant contribution to the upcoming iD Dunedin Fashion Show, both as a participant on the catwalk and as a member of the judging panel for the iD Awards. This transformative event is scheduled to take place in April 2025 at the historic Dunedin Railway Station.
Juliette Hogan, who has built a prominent presence in the fashion industry with retail stores located in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, has garnered a reputation for her dedication to sustainability. As the founder and Chair of Mindful Fashion NZ, she has been instrumental in advocating for responsible practices within the fashion sector. Hogan will showcase her 2025 ONE + TWO collection during the event, marking an impressive 21 years in the industry.
Expressing enthusiasm about Hogan’s involvement, Dr Margo Barton, Co-chair of the iD board, stated, “We are thrilled to have Juliette Hogan showing her collection and as a guest judge this year. Juliette has set a gold standard for elevated simplicity, expert tailoring and a great dedication to promoting sustainable practices both in her brand as well as more widely in New Zealand through Mindful Fashion New Zealand.”
In addition to Hogan, the judging panel will feature a talented lineup, including Margarita Robertson from NOM*d, Tara Viggo, who is also an iD board member and founder of Paper Theory, Dan Ahwa, and Kowtow Head Designer Dayne Johnston. The head judge for this year’s awards will be Tanya Carlson, a long-term collaborator with iD.
The iD team has also revealed that the iconic New Zealand label Zambesi will return to the runway, showcasing a full collection. Founded in 1979 by Elisabeth and Neville Findlay, Zambesi has established itself as a key player in the New Zealand fashion scene, known for its innovative use of fabrics and designs that are both avant-garde and accessible to a broad audience. Victoria Muir, the iD Fashion Event Manager, expressed excitement about Zambesi’s participation, remarking, “We are very excited to welcome New Zealand fashion royalty Zambesi back to the iD catwalk this year. They are always a major highlight, and we can’t wait to see their Winter collection.”
Moreover, the iD initiative has introduced sustainable merchandise, featuring charming socks made from 100 percent merino wool and produced in Ashburton, New Zealand. These items are available in two colour options and can be purchased at Chapman Store.
As the anticipation builds for the 2025 iD Dunedin Fashion Show, tickets are reportedly selling rapidly, with very limited availability remaining for what promises to be a standout event in New Zealand’s fashion calendar.
