Kent & Curwen unveiled its fall 2025 collection in a visually striking show held in the courtyard of the Foreign Office. The unique venue served as an imaginative backdrop, transporting attendees into a whimsical realm reminiscent of Tír na nÓg or the enchanting world of Narnia. Creative director Daniel Kearns infused the presentation with various characters drawn from English cultural icons, cleverly blending styles reminiscent of the popular sketch show “Little Britain” but approached with elegance and respect.
The collection featured an array of silhouettes that epitomize quintessential British fashion, including tailored blazers, trench coats, and sportswear, all notably enhanced with exaggerated shoulder lines and cinched waists. Among the highlights were the brand’s iconic logoed striped rugby shirts, reimagined in chunky knit fabrics, alongside sophisticated sheer flapper dresses adorned with motifs inspired by C.S. Lewis’ beloved literary works.
In discussing the collection, Kearns emphasized the importance of storytelling in evolving the brand, particularly as it embarks on an ambitious retail expansion under new ownership by Chinese company Biemlofen. Kearns referred to the mood board that guided the collection’s design, which included a diverse array of inspirations such as commuter fashion, a close-up of the Beefeater uniform, the royal coat of arms of the United Kingdom, and iconic visuals of pop culture figures like a young Madonna in a boxy coat and Princess Diana attending a royal event.
Kearns remarked on the significance of characters in the show, asserting that they symbolize the act of reflecting on nostalgic moments as a source of comfort for navigating forward in life. The Kent & Curwen runway show coincided with the relaunch of the brand’s global e-commerce platform, which took place on the same day, marking a significant milestone in their efforts to rebuild their presence in the marketplace.
