Kim Kardashian recently debuted an expensive Balenciaga graphic T-shirt featuring her image as part of a new series, despite navigating controversies surrounding her support of the brand and ongoing legal troubles.

Kim Kardashian has recently added a notable and pricey item to her wardrobe: a graphic T-shirt from Balenciaga priced at $825. The shirt features three images of her face on the front and her signature displayed on the back. The reality TV star and SKIMS founder showcased the oversized T-shirt on her Instagram Story and main page on Friday, captioning it “BALENCIAGA FALL 25.” The images depict Kardashian appearing relaxed on a couch next to a collection of the same T-shirts.

This new shirt is part of Balenciaga’s Brand Ambassador Fan Club Series, which made its debut in the market on the same day. The French fashion house offers similar T-shirts featuring other prominent figures like Isabelle Huppert, Michelle Yeoh, Nicole Kidman, and Thai actor PP Krit Amnuaydechkorn. According to a statement from the Paris-based fashion house, the collection draws inspiration from vintage fan club merchandise, highlighting aged figurative artwork that honors the ambassadors. The shirts include replicated signatures on the back, mimicking autograph memorabilia cherished by fans of actors and musicians.

Kardashian has been an advocate for Balenciaga since January 2024 and is frequently seen wearing the brand’s designs. She has previously expressed her admiration for the label, stating, “For several years now, Balenciaga’s designs have been a part of my many looks — and some of my most iconic fashion moments,” adding how the historic fashion house embraces modernity and innovative design under creative director Demna Gvasalia.

Despite her close association with Balenciaga, Kim Kardashian’s relationship with the brand has encountered significant scrutiny. In December 2022, Balenciaga faced backlash for a holiday advertising campaign that featured young children with teddy bears dressed in controversial attire, which some deemed inappropriate. Kardashian publicly addressed the situation, remarking, “As a mother of four, I have been shaken by the disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society.”

This quick pivot from condemnation to continued support has raised questions among her fan base regarding the impact on her public image. However, Evan Nierman, CEO of the crisis PR firm Red Banyan, noted in March 2024 that Kardashian has a history of thriving amid controversy, claiming she “is too big to be canceled.”

In addition to her fashion endeavors, Kardashian is currently facing legal issues related to a social media post in which she mistakenly identified a man as a death row inmate. The individual, Ivan Cantu, who is a project manager at Morgan Stanley, has since sought legal redress against Kardashian, claiming her actions have caused him significant emotional distress and damage to his reputation.

Cantu’s lawyers are pursuing a lawsuit for libel and slander, stating the false identification has led to embarrassment, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and the need for counseling. The lawsuit alleges that Kardashian acted with negligence and violated ethical standards in sharing the incorrect information.
