Philadelphia: Kimberly McGlonn, recognized by Philadelphia Magazine, introduces Noor by Grant Blvd, a sustainable loungewear line empowering women and supporting formerly incarcerated artisans. Each purchase promotes ethical practices and self-care within the community, reflecting McGlonn’s mission of upliftment and well-being.

Kimberly McGlonn, a prominent figure acknowledged in Philadelphia Magazine’s list of Most Influential People, has launched a new fashion line called Noor by Grant Blvd, which presents a unique blend of self-care and social responsibility. The collection features elevated, sustainable loungewear aimed at women who are seeking not only stylish options but also the means to support a greater cause.

Noor, which translates to “light” in Arabic, is named after McGlonn’s daughter and reflects her intention to create a line that resonates with empowerment and well-being. The collection includes versatile pieces such as Tencel vests and pants, designed specifically for comfort during moments of self-care at home. The use of Tencel, a plant-based fibre, underscores the commitment to sustainability that is central to the Noor brand.

Purchasing these items contributes to a broader social initiative, as the fashion line actively supports artisans, particularly formerly incarcerated women enrolled in McGlonn’s Kensington-based programme, Fashion the Future Forward. These artisans are compensated with a living wage and provided with essential career skills, signifying a commitment to uplifting the community through ethical employment practices. In a statement to Philadelphia Magazine, McGlonn articulated the mission of Noor, saying, “Noor is an offering of a richer life to a community of women that’s anchored in creating a richer life for a very different community of women.”

In addition to her fashion endeavour, McGlonn has recently published her first book titled Build It Boldly: How Daring Business Leaders Can Gain Influence and Create Impact, further establishing her influence in both the business and creative landscapes.

The garments from the Noor collection are priced at $175 for the vest and $275 for the pants, which are available for purchase through the brand’s website, noorbygrantblvd.com.
