At Texhibition Istanbul, Kipa? Textiles showcased cutting-edge yarn innovations focused on sustainability and performance, including a special yarn mix featuring natural materials and advanced temperature-regulating technology.
At the recent Texhibition Istanbul, held in March 2025, Kipa? Textiles showcased a range of innovative advancements in the yarn and textile sectors. As part of one of the largest manufacturers of yarn and fabric in Europe and Turkey, Kipa? Textiles presented its latest developments that emphasize a commitment to sustainability and performance.
Among the standout offerings was a new special yarn mix that incorporates natural materials with notable properties such as antibacterial, antiradiation, and electromagnetic protection. This innovative blend consists of 20% pineapple, 30% soy, 20% linen, 20% bamboo, and 10% silver fibers. The material is designed for use in both knitwear and woven fabrics, highlighting the company’s focus on integrating functional benefits with eco-friendly materials.
Ebru Kara Aktepe from Kipa? Textiles shared insights into the company’s approach, stating, “Our focus is on R&D and performance. We are not only focused on conventional fibers, but also strongly focused on sustainable and recycled materials as part of our ‘Innocence’ division, a segment we are especially focused on transparency and responsibility.”
Additionally, Kipa? Textiles introduced advanced materials such as a stainless-steel fiber covered with aramids meant for the automotive industry and a cotton fiber coated with graphene, known for its electromagnetic shielding properties.
One of the highlighted innovations was the introduction of the 37.5 Technology, which features sustainable and biodegradable fibers with temperature-regulating properties. This specialized fibermaintains a core body temperature of approximately 37.5 degrees Celsius, adapting to environmental fluctuations to keep the wearer comfortable—cool in warm conditions and warm in cooler climates. The technology also effectively manages moisture by evaporating sweat quickly, while trapping and releasing odors during washing cycles to ensure freshness over time. Notably, the features of this technology are designed to last for the lifetime of the product, not diminishing with washing.
Kipa? Textiles also presented its Recycled Project, which includes a recycling facility capable of shredding about 30 tons of textile waste per day, covering waste from both its own operations and external sources. This initiative aims to help companies and brands manage overproduction effectively and recycle old textiles within a closed-loop system. Major brands, such as Lacoste and PVH Group, are already participating in this project.
Founded in 1984 by the Öksüz and Gümü?er families, Kipa? Textiles is a subsidiary of Kipa? Holding, which encompasses a diverse portfolio that includes cement, paper, energy, education, and logistics. The group employs approximately 10,000 individuals and is a prominent player in the textile industry, with an annual production capacity of 80 million meters of fabric and 400 tons of yarn per day. With an export portfolio worth an estimated US$200 million across nearly 100 countries, Kipa? Textiles has established itself as one of the top 100 exporters in Turkey and ranks high in the ISO 500 list in Kahramanmara?, where all their facilities are located.
