Founded in 2019 by Samantha Martínez in Oaxaca de Juárez, Kotó has a commitment to alternative, ancestral textile production methods, emphasizing sustainability throughout its processes. Martínez transitioned into the textile field from her initial career in architecture, where she applies her knowledge of geometric structures and natural dyes to create garments that accentuate the human form. Each item produced by Kotó is more than clothing; it represents a carefully curated textile essay that marries traditional craftsmanship with modern design aesthetics.
