The Lenzing Group will present its innovative sustainability projects at Hannover Messe 2025, collaborating with the European Commission and promoting a circular economy in the textile industry.
The Lenzing Group, a prominent supplier of regenerated cellulose fibers for the textile and nonwovens sectors, is set to showcase its innovative projects aimed at sustainability during Hannover Messe 2025. The event, known as the world’s leading industrial trade fair, will take place in Hannover, Germany, from March 31 to April 4, 2025. Lenzing will participate as a co-exhibitor at the European Commission’s stand, aligning with its reputation as a key player in the clean industry.
Christian Skilich, a member of the Managing Board of Lenzing AG, expressed enthusiasm about the company’s participation in the event. He noted, “Participation in the Hannover Messe provides us with an excellent platform to present our pioneering projects. In order to preserve our livelihoods and those of future generations, the global textile and nonwovens industry must successfully transition to sustainable production. As a leading integrated fiber group, Lenzing is the driving innovative force in the industry. The invitation to exhibit together with the EU Commission is a great honor for us and underlines our role as a pioneer for a clean industry.”
Lenzing has established itself as the only producer of regenerated cellulosic fibers with a verified, science-based net-zero target. The company is actively developing solutions to address the global textile waste issue and is promoting a transition toward a circular economy. One notable initiative is the CELLFIL project, which began in 2024 and has secured EUR 6.9 million in co-funding from the EU. This project involves Lenzing collaborating with the non-profit organization RTDS Group along with 13 other industry and research partners to scale the production of lyocell filaments.
In addition, Lenzing has partnered with Swedish pulp producer Södra since 2021 to explore new industrial-scale recycling processes for used textiles. This venture received support in 2023 through a EUR 10 million grant from the EU’s LIFE 2022 program. Another innovative project, titled “Glacial Threads: From Forests to Future Textiles,” links glacier protection efforts with textile recycling and is also slated for presentation at the upcoming Hannover Messe.
Visitors to the Lenzing AG exhibit at Hannover Messe 2025 can find them in hall 13, at stand E66. Furthermore, Dominic Köfner, Vice President of Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, Investor Relations, and Sustainability Reporting, will participate in a panel discussion entitled “Transforming Tomorrow: Game-Changing Innovations in Industry” on April 1 from 1:45 to 2:45 pm CET.
Hannover Messe 2025 is expected to draw over 4,000 exhibitors and approximately 130,000 attendees, making it a significant international forum focused on technologies related to industrial transformation.
