Johannesburg: Levi’s® hosted its first Denim Bouquet Workshop at the Africa Studio, teaching attendees to create ‘forever’ bouquets from denim offcuts. Led by Angela Weickl, the initiative promotes sustainability and creativity ahead of Valentine’s Day, with plans for future workshops and online tutorials available.
On 31 January 2025, Levi’s® launched the New Year with a creative and sustainable initiative by hosting its inaugural Denim Bouquet Workshop at the Levi’s® Africa Studio in Johannesburg. The event attracted a variety of guests keen to learn innovative ways to repurpose denim offcuts into unique floral arrangements, aptly termed “forever” bouquets, in celebration of the upcoming Valentine’s Day.
The workshop was led by Angela Weickl, Levi’s® Culture and Network Manager, who guided attendees through the process of transforming simple materials into personal and meaningful creations. Participants were introduced to various techniques that enabled them to craft one-of-a-kind bouquets, showcasing their creativity while engaging with the brand’s sustainable practices.
The event is part of a broader initiative by Levi’s® to foster community ties and inspire imagination within a sustainable framework. This Denim Bouquet Workshop continues a series of engaging events, building upon the success of prior gatherings such as the Levi’s® x Sister Party and a festive upcycling workshop conducted in collaboration with Clothes To Good. Each event is designed to infuse new energy into the concept of denim while remaining committed to sustainability.
Levi’s® plans to host more workshops in the future, providing opportunities for individuals to participate in similar creative activities. For those who were unable to attend this session, the brand has shared a step-by-step tutorial for crafting denim bouquets, encouraging followers to engage with their social media platforms for updates on future workshops.
