Valley Health Team Inc. hosts its annual event to provide local high school students with affordable prom attire and etiquette training.
A non-profit health center in Fresno, California, is working to ensure that local high school students are able to look their best for prom this year. Valley Health Team Inc. hosted its annual event, “The Cinderella Project,” on Thursday at the Multi-Purpose Room of Kerman High School.
During the event, junior and senior students had the opportunity to select gently used prom dresses, shoes, and jewelry. This initiative aims to provide students with affordable options for formal attire, allowing them to participate fully in prom festivities. The project was made possible by contributions from the community, which donated the items available for students.
In addition to the dress selections, attendees were given the opportunity to learn proper etiquette for formal dining, ensuring that they are prepared for the evening’s events. As part of the initiative, each student also received a handout containing safety tips for prom night, aimed at helping them navigate the evening responsibly.
The event highlights the efforts of local organizations to support youth in their community and ensure that financial constraints do not hinder their participation in significant social events such as prom.
