London: Lucy & Yak will conduct its (Im) Perfect Yaks Sale at Copeland Park, Peckham, from 6 to 9 March 2025, showcasing wearable items with minor defects. This event reinforces the brand’s commitment to sustainability and waste reduction in the fashion industry.

Lucy & Yak, the prominent clothing brand known for its sustainable practices, is set to host its latest (Im) Perfect Yaks Sale at Copeland Park in Peckham, London, from 6 to 9 March 2025. This event, spanning four days, will feature a curated selection of “perfectly imperfect Yaks”, a term used by the brand to describe products with minor issues or defects that remain “entirely wearable and loveable”.

This marks the fifth occasion that Lucy & Yak has organised such a sale, with previous events having been hosted in cities including Manchester, Edinburgh, and Sheffield, as well as last year’s successful initiative in the same Peckham warehouse. The brand has built a strong community around these sales, drawing many loyal customers eager to support their cause.

The (Im) Perfect Yaks Sale is not solely about discount shopping; it is also part of Lucy & Yak’s broader commitment to reducing waste in the fashion industry. The company is known for offering “old favourites and irresistible bargains” while also promoting its buyback initiative called ‘PreLoved’. This scheme incentivises customers to return any Lucy & Yak product in exchange for discount codes worth up to £20, redeemable on future purchases either in-store or online.

Once the returned items are collected, Lucy & Yak repurposes them through repairs or recycling, thereby fostering a circular approach to fashion. This initiative aligns with the brand’s objective to produce clothing meant to “last a lifetime” and to mitigate environmental impact.

Lucy Greenwood, co-founder of Lucy & Yak, discussed the brand’s sustainable focus in an interview with TheIndustry.Fashion, stating: “When me and Chris first launched Lucy & Yak in 2017 we realised that, if we wanted to be truly circular, we had a responsibility for the lifecycle of everything we created including the items that might not meet specific quality requirements.” She continued, “Often these types of products are discarded across the industry, but we wanted to find a way to make use of them to keep clothing on people and out of landfill. This is why we promote them as (Im)perfect Yaks – not 100% perfect but still 100% wearable.”

In addition to the Peckham event, Lucy & Yak recently announced plans to relocate and expand its Cambridge store, moving from 36 Green Street to a larger space at 13 Sussex Street, with an official opening scheduled for 14 March 2025. This move reflects the brand’s growth and its commitment to providing accessible sustainable fashion solutions.
