Twin sisters Mary Kay Bowden and Kim Willson launch 11 Julliet, a brand that combines the elegance of fine jewelry with luxury handbags, aiming to redefine everyday style.
A new luxury accessories brand, 11 Julliet, founded by twin sisters Mary Kay Bowden and Kim Willson, is set to launch on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. The brand aims to merge the elegance of fine jewelry with the luxury of handbags, offering a unique collection that features leather handbags adorned with precious stones such as diamonds, black onyx, mother-of-pearl, and malachite.
In an interview with WWD, Bowden expressed the vision behind 11 Julliet, stating, “We really saw that some of these luxury brands out there led with their name and their legacy maybe over product quality. What we wanted to do was to lead with our product quality first and bring our customers the very best product out there. That being said, 11 Julliet is a luxury handbag and accessory brand and we are blending the world of fine jewelry, expert craftsmanship and elegance into this wearable work of art that can be brought to a woman’s wardrobe for every day.” The brand’s goal is to elevate everyday style with a new level of luxury and opulence.
Prior to launching their brand, Bowden and Willson each accumulated years of experience in the manufacturing and design sectors, particularly within the shapewear and lingerie markets. Their background in these fields has enabled them to establish connections with various factories and tanneries to produce the exquisite pieces offered by 11 Julliet.
The handbag collection includes diverse styles such as a tote bag, top-handle bag, and two crossbody bags, available in shades of brown, black, green, and white leather. Each handbag prominently features the signature “Éclat de Joie” emblem, adorned with diamonds and plated in 18-karat gold. The phrase “Éclat de Joie,” which translates to “burst of joy” in French, encapsulates the ethos of the line, promoting an uplifting experience. The prices for the handbags range from $9,000 to $50,000.
In addition to handbags, 11 Julliet has also introduced a fine jewelry collection that utilizes the same “Éclat de Joie” motif seen in their handbags. This collection comprises earrings, bracelets, and necklaces with price points between $2,000 and $37,000. “They are materials that are typically not used together, and we were like, ‘why not?’” Bowden remarked, highlighting the innovative approach of combining handbags with fine jewelry. “A handbag is another place for you to wear your jewels and enjoy them, so we thought let’s merge those two.”
The collections will be accessible through the brand’s website and via various high-end trunk shows throughout the United States. Looking ahead, Bowden and Willson have expressed their ambition to expand 11 Julliet with new handbag and jewelry offerings in the near future.
