The LVMH Young Fashion Designers Prize reveals eight finalists showcasing a diverse array of emerging designers from around the world, including notable names like Soshi Otsuki and Alain Paul.
The prestigious LVMH Young Fashion Designers Prize has unveiled its eight finalists for the 2025 edition, reflecting a diverse mix of emerging talent from around the globe. Among the selected finalists is Soshi Otsuki, representing Japan with his brand “SOSHIOTSUKI.” Ryohta Murakami of “pillings,” who reached the semi-finals, did not advance to the finals.
Included in the list of finalists is Alain Paul, who has honed his skills at notable fashion houses including VETEMENTS, led by Demna, and LOUIS VUITTON under Virgil Abloh, now presenting his own French brand “ALAINPAUL.” Other finalists are Francesco Murano, born in 1997, with his brand “FRANCESCO MURANO,” and Steve O Smith from Central Saint Martins, showcasing his collection under the name “STEVE O SMITH.” Tolu Coker, recognized for his innovative approach that marries traditional techniques such as batik and weaving with modern technology, is also a finalist, alongside Torishe?ju Dumi, who has previously worked with industry heavyweights like Phoebe Philo at CELINE and ANN DEMEULEMEESTER, presenting “TORISHE?JU.”
Danial Aitouganov, who hails from the Republic of Tatarstan and has gained international experience in Amsterdam, is entering the competition with his brand “ZOMER.” He has worked with prominent labels including alexanderwang, Chloé, BURBERRY, and LOUIS VUITTON. Lastly, the collective “ALL-IN,” which merges publications with fashion collections, is represented by founders Benjamin Barron and Bror August Vestbø.
Delphine Arnault, a board member and executive committee member of LVMH, expressed her admiration for the candidates’ skills, stating, “In the 12th edition of the LVMH Prize, the diverse backgrounds and creativity of the semi-finalists shone through. We witnessed outstanding tailoring techniques and craftsmanship, along with sophisticated aesthetics.”
The final judging will occur on September 3 at the Louis Vuitton Foundation. Esteemed judges include Jonathan Anderson, Kim Jones, Stella McCartney, NIGO, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Nicolas Ghesquière, Mark Jacobs, and Phoebe Philo, who will evaluate the finalists’ creations and determine the winner of this coveted prize.
